Some 2010-2015 Cadillac SRX Owners To Be Reimbursed Over Headlights

Owners of 2010-2015 model year Cadillac SRX crossovers will be reimbursed for expenses they may have incurred making repairs to the vehicle’s headlights after a class action lawsuit was filed in 2017.
This class action proceeding is actually separate from the class action suit over the SRX’s headlights that was recently filed in Detroit. Unknown legal hurdles caused this class action suit to be thrown out in all states except for Florida and California.
Like the lawsuit filed in Detroit, this proceeding alleges the headlights on the 2010-2015 model year Cadillac SRX may have faulty weather seals that erode prematurely, allowing moisture to enter the headlight casing. This may cause the bulb to either dim or burn out entirely.
Owners have complained of dim headlights when driving to the point where some can not use their vehicles at night. The problem also returns once the headlights are repaired at dealers, causing owners to incur additional repair expenses. Furthermore, some Cadillac dealers have refused to fix the problem even when the vehicle in question is still under warranty.
According to Car Complaints, General Motors has now agreed to reimburse owners for any replaced headlamp capsules or lightbulbs, with a cap of up to $1,600 per replacement. The repairs must have been associated with problems caused by moisture and owners must initially pay out of pocket for the repairs.
However both the California/Florida and Detroit lawsuits claim that having the headlights repaired does little to fix the problem, as moisture will simply re-enter the headlight and the dimming issue will return. Car Complaints says SRX owners are routinely faced with bills of around $1,500 to fix the issue, while some have even faced repairs totalling more than $5,000.
The Detroit suit also says GM actively tried to cover up the Cadillac SRX headlight defect and continues to do so today.

It is not a recall It was a class action suit and I guess Cadillac agreed to reimburse up to $1695 per light but a lot of people haven’t gotten it
My letter said it only covered halogen headlights, so the dealership told me that I was out of luck
When I spoke with Cadillac they told me I had to go get a diagnosis and then send it to them but they didn’t make a commitment has anybody dealt directly with cadilac sense June when they stopped reimbursing
YAY, i FINALLY RECEIVED MY CHECK FROM CADILLAC ! The address on the check is CADILLAC DIVISON, GM LLC C/O ANALYTICS CONSULTING LLC P.O.BOX2009 CHANHHASSEN MN. 55317-2009 TOLL FREE # 888 305-1605 I hope it encourages some of you who are feeling taken advantage of or lied to.
Same here. I thought I would be lucky to see anything by Friday 2021.
I’m here to say that I just recently got off the phone with someone at general motors after holding on for 35 minutes to be told that if it’s not repaired at the dealership there’s no way of reimbursement. Please change this GM Scam. In if you sign your paper work an send it in they can’t be held accountable for anything that has to do with your headlights and a collision
The car that I am dealing with right now my ex husband had purchased it two weeks before he died I bought the car from the state was driving at night and couldn’t see for crap so I checked it out and found out about the situation he had bought the car from a Ford dealership fortunately for me they stood behind the car got an aftermarket light and it’s working perfectly fine but it’s disgusting the GM is not standing by this
I am currently beginning my journey to get the headlights fixed. Bought 2010SRX for my son who just turned 16. Any advice is appreciated.

I have the same problem with my 2011 srx head lights can’t drive the car a night they need to come up with better lights for these suv,s that works redesign them that’s the best fix I think because this problem keeps coming back
I have now reached out to customer service twice and have still not received a response. Sadly this great brand ad company is no longer worth buying from. Quality companies stand behind their product when it fails. My CUE screen is also frozen, another Cadillac common issue. Poor quality manufacturing and design with a premium price. Don’t get sucked in to this racket.
Cadillac should be ashamed of this headlight farce. My lights are so bad in my 2014 srx that I try to avoid driving at night. The you weren’t bad when I first got vehicle, ( bought new) however I think the heat from the factory headlights has damaged the reflective coating in the fixture. An accident waiting to happen.
Why is GM treating people in this manner. They are destroying and sinking their flagship Cadillac. Even seeing people also complaining about there purchase of the new current models. If people stop buying Cadillac these dingalings will just stop making them and move on to destroying the next flagship. Someday they will explain to their grandchildren how important they were when they worked at GM. No wonder the best reputations come from foreign auto makers.
I have the same problem! Moisture in the headlight. I did not put there nor did I make the car. It caused my turn signal and running light to burn out. It has caused my headlight to dim. It is a driving hazard. I submitted a claim in the class action lawsuit. No response. I finally called and was told my car was built at a different plant.. I still have the problem. $2000 to replace?! Really!
