We’ve already seen spy shots galore of the mid-engine Corvette C8 prototype, and have even peeped its covered-up interior. But today, our spy photographer managed to get a few detailed shots of the gauge cluster, despite the driver wailing his arms in protest – giving us a good idea of what drivers will see when behind the wheel of Chevrolet’s upcoming sports car.
The photos reveal the Corvette C8 as having a very modern and completely digital instrument cluster, with a prominent digital tachometer in the middle and a digital speedometer readout centered within the tech. Notice the Corvette logo between the speed readout and the tachometer sweep.
To the left of that is a G-Force meter that would show the G forces either to the left or right, with the scale reaching 1.25G at both ends, and a numerical readout above that with accuracy to two decimal places. Below the G force meter sits the odometer and engine temperature.
An infotainment section appears to flank the centered tachometer and speed readouts on the other (right) side of the instrument panel.
It is now clear that the future Corvette C8 will feature a very modern and high-tech gauge cluster (instrument panel) that will adequately communicate the high-performance nature of the car.

Its unfortunate the check engine light is on… Que the jokes
gas lid is loose
It has capless fuel fill 🙂
Just don’t let Mary Barra get her hands on this or it will be ruined, require thousands in incentives to sell, and probably be recalled 10 times in the first few year.
Mary must go!
Don’t worry about it, the dealership already scanned it and said there was nothing wrong.
.
There WILL be a Cadillac version.
Immediately, of course not. Soon after, we will see. Need to offer “special C8 models” first then………..
I don’t need explain myself as some might remember me from over a month ago.
Put a sticker over that check engine light. It gives away the brand more than anything else they’re covering.
I thought that the check engine light was supposed to be on all the time…….well it is in both my 2016 F150 and my 2015 Ford Explorer.
A company F150 I drove one time showed a picture of a wrench one time. I guess that’s either maintenance, or the computers were in self destruct mode. Internet says power train fault. I can go with a check engine light as long as it’s not blinking to show a misfire. Heck I worked as a service greeter/valet at a Toyota dealer, and I saw lights on those all the time. Someone came in, and they had every single light on and plus some. I would almost expect lights while they are testing on the tracks anyway. If they took pictures of more models under various manufacturers testing, there’d more than likely be lights illuminated. It’s probably just emissions, unless they’re testing and there was a misfire.
It is advertising it has German engineering.
I cannot wait for this reveal.
Looks great so far. Properly sized Paddle Shifters too. New Steering Wheel Stalks as well.
Go GM Go!!!
Mid engine C8 is the worst kept secret ever.
I already love this car. Almost as much as sucking *icks
Is the G-force meter to alert when the glass hatch will crack?
I WANT TO SEE THE CADILLAC MID-ENGINE VERSION.
Underwhelming. Reminds me of the misbegotten early Gen-4 instrument cluster.
So far, the whole design is underwhelming for a 6-figure sports car. GM should have farmed out the design work to Turin Design.
Nothing beats the instrument panel of the 1939 Talbot-Lago Type 150-SS or the 63′ Sting Ray.
The whole car is still under camo, and you’re in no position to declare that the whole design is underwhelming.
In recent car and driver lightning lap, the Corvette pulled over 1.5 G. Why does a G meter only go to 1.25G? What’s next an 85 mph speedometer?
Looks like it will have AFM or DFM…since it has a V8 light on…
