Geiger Cars Envisions A 2018 Camaro Police Car

Few things strike more fear in the hearts of car enthusiasts everywhere than the sight of a police car in the rearview mirror. In the U.S., many police departments have opted for covert traffic enforcement – black cars with hidden lights and few, if any, markings denoting their affiliation. They’re better suited for catching would-be traffic criminals then deterring people from committing a vehicular crime in the first place. That’s why it’s so polarizing to see police cars from other countries that are brightly adorned and often painted white with ginormous lights atop the vehicle. And that’s precisely what we get when we look at this Camaro police car from Geiger Cars in Germany.

This 2018 Chevrolet Camaro SS is doing a lot of work. One, it shows us just how rad a Camaro police car could look. The lights on top, paired with the white and black design, and with the word Police written all over screams “POLICE CAR, ” and it looks downright menacing, too. Sadly, we don’t know much about this Camaro police car outside of this. Geiger Cars designed it as a promotional tool, and, while the car has police lights on the roof, we don’t even know if it has sirens.

The added flamboyancy complements the 2019 Camaro’s snarling appearance, as divisive as it may be. Under the hood is GM’s 6.2-liter LT1 V8 making 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque. While Geiger is an official General Motors dealer, the company also has a plethora of aftermarket parts to help customers get the most out of their new purchase. In that regard, this Camaro police car could have a few performance tricks up its sleevesconsidering it’s a promotional vehicle.

The car is a nice reminder that not all police cars have to be a nondescript utility. Though SUVs make sense when hauling people to jail, being pulled over by a tricked-out 2019 Camaro SS wouldn’t be bad… though we’d still hope to be let off with just a warning.

  2. There haven’t been any pony ppv since the 02 Camaro but still don’t stop PDs from using them. Indiana SP use unmarked Mustangs for interceptors and some FL departments use marked Challengers.

  3. In 1989 I was pulled over by a CHP Camaro on hwy. 395 north of Bishop. He passed me going south and whipped around, followed me for a mile or two then turned on his lights.

Turns out he just wanted to see my car, an SVO. He had never seen one before or even knew about them so I gave him a tour.
