All-New 2019 Silverado Discount Totals Over $9,500 In April 2019

The launch of the all-new 2019 Silverado 1500 is nearing completion, as retail availability of the all-new full-size pickup truck continues to increase and as more body styles and powertrain options go into production. After boosting the incentive on the 2019 Silverado mid-January on a single model to coincide with its national marketing launch, Chevrolet is now offering a 2019 Silverado discount exceeding $9,500 in April 2019, which is slightly higher than the Silverado discount last month. However, it’s worth noting that the headlining Silverado discount continues to be applicable only to a single model equipped with two very specific packages.

In the first three months of the year, Chevrolet was discounting only one specific model of the all-new 2019 Silverado – the LT Crew Cab with the All Star Package, while competitors like FCA’s Ram and Ford offered discounts across most of the model range. The Silverado discount for April essentially maintains the same discount, but adds a $1,500 cash allowance on other Silverado models and trim levels, including on Crew Cab and Double Cab models.

About Chevrolet Silverado

The Chevrolet Silverado is a lineup of full-size pickup trucks sold primarily in North America, but also in the Middle East and in certain markets in South America. Slotting above the mid-size Chevrolet Colorado (known as the S10 in some markets), the Silverado is Chevrolet's largest pickup truck and currently consists of the 1500 light duty model, two Heavy Duty models - the 2500HD and 3500HD, as well as Conventional Class 4, Class 5 and Class 6 Medium Duty models - the Silverado 4500HD and Silverado 5500HD and Silverado 6500HD.

The 2018 Chevy Silverado represents the fifth model year of the third-generation Silverado. It is based on the GM K2 platform shared with other full-size pickup trucks and SUVs from GM. Though the line sold relatively well, it became less competitive in the marketplace with time when compared to its primary Ford F-Series rival, due to lacking cutting-edge features such as turbocharged engines, a rugged off-road variant such as the Ford F-150 Raptor, a diesel engine option in the light duty (1500) model, and also various modern features and equipment.

Luckily, an all-new Silverado arrived for the 2019 model year that addresses many of the issues of its predecessor model. Customers began taking delivery of the all-new truck in the second half of August 2018.

Chevrolet says that the all-new 2019 Silverado is the result of over 7,000 customer interviews - the most intensive research in its history. The new model uses higher grade alloy steel in the bed floor as well as various mixed materials that result in a reduction in weight and improved performance, with weight falling about 450 pounds. The truck also offers an expanded amount of models for a total of eight, including the new 2019 Silverado Trailboss.

Riding on GM's new T1 platform shared with other future GM full-size trucks and SUVs, the 2019 Silverado offers more technology, convenience features, and engine/transmission combinations. While details of five powertrain combos have already been revealed, GM has not yet shared details of the new inline-six 3.0L Duramax Diesel engine, only stating that it will be "best-performing" and that it will be mated to GM's new 10-speed transmission.

Notably, the outgoing, Chevy will continue manufacturing and selling the outgoing, K2 generation Silverado alongside the all-new model for a limited amount of time in limited configurations.

2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD

Having overhauled the Silverado 1500, Chevy will next overhaul the Silverado Heavy Duty. The brand released a teaser image of the upcoming all-new 2020 Silverado HD in April 2018 and announced the vehicle in November 2018. The truck will launch in the 2019 calendar year as a 2020 model.

The 2020 Silverado HD will be comprised of the Silverado 2500HD and Silverado 3500HD that ride on a more robust and capable version of the new T1 platform when compared to the 2019 Silverado 1500, while sharing many high-tech features and design elements with its light duty brother.

Completing the overhauled Silverado family is the 2019 Silverado Medium Duty series, comprised of the Silverado 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD.

  1. Needs to be 12000 to 15000 to be competive.

  2. If 12-15k off were the case, would that be enough to get you to go buy one? I doubt it very seriously if you’re making that comment. Rather you wish it was that much off in order to make yourself believe you could get into one.

The Silverado is highly competitive with all others in the segment. Best looking of the big three, and the bottom dwellers can’t even compare aesthetically. Any comparable Ford, Ram, Toyota, Nissan in the LT versions price range are very close in interior quality and options. They all have their issues and it is only in the top range models where the differences in luxury and quality come into effect.

Silverado and Sierra need to step up when it comes to the LTZ, High Country, Denali regarding options and higher quality materials, but the middle to lower models are pretty much right where they need to be if not better than the others.

    1. Wow. “Silverado” and “best looking” in the same paragraph. I bet MRB is a chubby chaser.

      1. So along with most of the stupid tripe you’ve posted on here for as long as anyone can remember, you can only come up with something as weak as a chubby chaser? Even if that was the case, it would still be more than you’ve ever seen except for you making the decision whether or not to use your right or left hand to your dad’s she-male porn collection.

Yes, In my subjective opinion, the Silverado is the best looking of the full size trucks. So what? If I and many people didn’t like them, we wouldn’t be on a GM forum or be owners of GM vehicles. I also said there is room for improvement, and many times on this forum have made statements of disagreement with GM’s direction on design and lack of direct competition, which means I am also objective.

You on the other hand (oops, there you go again with the other hand) have long been proven an idiot time after time on this forum. I think most if not all the people on here would appreciate you just going away. Especially the chubbies now that you’ve insulted them

  3. Wife and I were shopping for 7 seater SUVs while checking out the traverse. There was a 19 Silverado in the showroom ltz or HC. (We have a 14 ltz k2) I told her to hop in tell me what you think. Ours is way better than this. I said I agree Gm screwed the pooch on the interior big time.

  4. Dealer in the metro area I am near is advertising 14k off an LT All Star. We are still not seeing many on the roads but plenty on the lots, even saw two regular cabs at a dealer! I wish they would offer a package, not a trim level , to elevate the interior of a Custom and then another for the LTZ and High Country. It would give those that want a better looking interior a choice and IMO encourage the chances for a sale. For instance, I would be glad to pay for a package on a Trail Boss Custom to give me a leather wrapped steering wheel and some bright trim on the dash and even a storage area in the arm rest! Then I’d pay extra for another color interior instead of black. Now say these were packages that cost $595 and $295 respectively, that’s a worth every penny to have a satisfied customer and what does GM lose to give that customer the choice?

  6. MRB I think the new Silverado is absolutely the best looking truck out there, but it is hard to compete with a 3000$ to 5000$ deficit in price. I will buy when it is competitve in price with Ram and F-150.

  7. Coming from somebody who has been a GM person all of their life, I REALLY hoped this truck was going to live up to what I had hoped it would be. While I know that the exterior is polarizing, I am disappointed with the truck overall. I actually like the exterior, but the interior and some internal decisions are head-scratchers to me. As Motortrend stated in their initial review of the truck: “It’s almost as if the designers put the pencil down too early”. To be as fair as possible, I spent a lot of time with both the Silverado and the Ram 1500 before I ended up going with the Ram. I wanted to buy a Silverado- I really did. General Motors has put food on my family’s table for generations, and for that, I will always be a fan, but for now, I had no choice to go with the better truck. Maybe the next time around…

  8. I’m seeing a ton of new 2019 Silverado’s in most color combinations. On dealer lots that is. It is pretty comical that you have to shell out 2300 bucks at minimum to get a power seat, leather steering wheel or XM radio on the higher trim level volume selling LT on a truck that is already 45-46K to start with. Want the 5.3. That will be another 1395. Want wheel liners that used to be std last year. That will be another 680.00 please. Yes Mrs Barra has record high profits backed right into these new trucks so it is going to take 10-15KL off sticker to keep momentum up and then there is that pesky thing called the Ram

  9. I seem to recall 2 or 3 years ago Mary saying that rebates and discounts were the strategy they were trying to get away from. Oh well when you have an uncompetitive product and have to move iron you have to do what you have to do.
