This Chevrolet Cartoon Will Warm Your Heart

The holidays may have come and gone, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t start writing our wish lists, and this Chevrolet cartoon hits just the spot.

The cartoon dates all the way back to Christmas time in 1925, but it can still be appreciated today. After all, what individual or family hasn’t had a car on their list at one point or another – whether it be for a birthday, anniversary, or for the holidays? And most of us have either drafted up an actual list or written a letter to jolly ol’ Saint Nick during our lifetime.

Chevrolet Christmas Cartoon

The cartoon starts off with Santa Claus reading a letter he received. It reads: “Dear Santa, Instead of several small gifts I want to get the wife and kiddies one big present this Christmas – Something that will make them all happy. I’m leaving it up to you Santa.” No pressure, right?

As Christmas Eve nears, Santa Claus starts to panic because he has no idea what to gift the family. But when Santa passes by a Chevrolet factory in his sleigh, he suddenly encounters a lightbulb moment.

In the last frame of this Chevrolet Cartoon, the happy family can be seen riding in a Chevrolet coach – courtesy of Santa, of course.

That brings us to this question: which General Motors car is on your wish list? Let us know in the comments section below… you never know, Santa might be reading through the comments.

    1. What did I just read? You should have paid attention and studied harder in school and you would have a great job right how. 59 here and been working continuously since 1974.

      1. What a JERK! Have some dang compassion, dude! You are exactly one pay check from not having a job. It happens that fast. Count yourself blessed that you are in your shoes and not those of somebody else.

And in case you have not been aware of the news, education and how hard you studied has no bearing on whether you have a job; for that matter, neither does how well you work. If any of that mattered even a minuscule amount the good people in Lordstown, Oshawa, and countless other towns across the country, in every industry, would all still be working.

Geez Louise, quit being so dad gum “greater than thou”, come down off that horse, and try to live in the same world in which all the rest of us are cursed to be.

        1. I’m 59yo and in IT and due to the fact I’ve kept my skill set up to date during my career I I barraged with job offers from headhunters for positions all over the US and for military contracting overseas. The big thing is you have to be willing to think outside the box, be flexible and willing to relocate if need be. Not sure if you’ve heard but life is a hard and brutal experience. The strong survive and the weak do not. It may not be right but that’s how it is. The days of somebody getting a high school education, or less, and then expecting to go out and get a fat paycheck for 30 years and then retire doing mindless repetitive work are over. I did factory work as a Summer job when I was young and pretty quickly found out that it was mind numbing and not for me. I keep posting this but I’ll do it again. Every single person needs to watch this clip from 1976 and understand that this is how the world is, a business. All you have to sell is yourself and you had best have the best product to sell.

          1. And really, what does this have to do with asking Santa for a new car? You know, that which the story was referencing?

  4. If there was one GM vehicle that I wish “Santa” would bring me; it would have to be a 2019 CTS-V in Vector blue, with the black wheels! God how I wish they made a red interior for that car!

I would also love a current gen SIlverado 2500HD Duramax (with the REAL Allison tranny). But Since that is no longer for sale, Ill be buying a RAM in 2022. I’m absolutely in love with the looks and the Cummins is not a bad engine.

  5. My wish would be for a 1988 Chevrolet Caprice Estate wagon with the woodgrain sides. I had one and nothing since has come close to the ride that car had, even my 2014 Silverado!

  6. Dear Santa,

I would like to see GM start putting in class competitive or better interiors back into it’s cars and trucks, make at least the basic advanced safety items like rear cross traffic alert, lane keep assist, blind side zone alert and decent headlights into all of your current offerings as std equipment, do an emergency MCE on your lackluster trucks so they at least compete with Ford and Dodge on interior quality and at least with the F-150 on MPG. Also try and find a way to give back most of those lost jobs by not killing off so many of your cars. Give us back the Impala and Lacrosse in MCE makeover versions with better MPG and AWD offered as an extra on the Impala. Your already killing off the Verano, Cascada, Sonic, Volt and XTS.

Also add some spice to your existing lineup with some SS versions of the Impala/Malibu with 3.0TT engines, more interior color choices,a Regal Tour X that can be equipped like it’s Opel cousin without black plastic fender flares, fancier better seats, an optional V6, more interior color choices and offer optional cooled seats and rear heated seats. Oh and get the Suburban/Tahoe/Yukon right out of the gate with no compromises and beef up your power-train warranties like they were 4 years ago. Oh and fix your option packages/std equipment features so they better align with the competition.

As far as which car is on my list GM refuses to equip it this way but I would have a Regal AWD hatch with the 3.6 GS engine in preferred II trim with a nice tan and brown interior like the LaCrosse offers for around 30K in Rioja red please.
