The third-generation Cadillac CTS-V may have overshadowed the second-generation model with its 650 hp supercharged LT4 engine and quick-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission, but there’s still a ton of love out there for the 2011-2015 CTS-V sedan, coupe and wagon and a very strong aftermarket scene.
Hooker Headers recently put together a video documenting its BlackHeart exhaust for the 2011-2015 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe. The cat-back exhaust kit consists of three-inch, 18-gauge mandrel bent stainless steel pipes, dual polished stainless steel mufflers, an x-pipe and 4.5-inch polished stainless steel tips with laser etched ‘Hooker BlackHeart’ logos. The kit uses OEM mounting points for a “factory-like fitment,” Hooker says, and also comes with all necessary installation hardware.
The manufacturer also claims this exhaust kit can provide max output gains of 29.42 hp and 35.03 lb-ft of torque on the dyno.
Despite the presence of General Motors’ 6.2-liter supercharged LSA engine, these Cadillacs weren’t very loud from the factory, especially when compared with other 500+ hp V8 cars. This rather loud and aggressive exhaust would certainly liven things up, although owners may risk having a bit of drone when installing such an aggressive aftermarket cat-back kit.
Cadillac CTS-V Coupe owners seeking even more tone and performance may want to opt for Hooker’s short-tune headers for the second-generation CTS-V as well, which can allegedly provide further dyno gains of 18.85 hp and 20.49 lb-ft of torque. They also retain the factory sensors and catalytic converters.
Check out the video embedded above to see and hear Hooker’s BlackHeart cat back exhaust in action. The car in the video does not have the aforementioned Hooker headers installed.
