The GM Authority Take
We posit that GM Mexico sales decreased in February as a result of limited availability of two key vehicles – the Chevrolet Silverado/Cheyenne and GMC Sierra, as the full-size pickups prepare for their respective market-specific launches in March. As soon as those models are fully in the pipeline, we see GM Mexico sales rebounding significantly.
We should also note that sales of the Equinox also contributed to the drop in GM Mexico sales in February, a rather strange circumstance given the popularity of the vehicle and the growth of its segment. We’re uncertain what to attribute the drop to, but will follow the development closely.
