First Photos Of The 2020 Acadia Interior Surface

When General Motors revealed the 2020 GMC Acadia last month, we got photos of its refreshed exterior but no photos of the updated interior. Well, that’s changed – as we now have our first look at the 2020 Acadia interior and some of its neat features.

The 2020 Acadia interior introduces three notable features: Electronic Precision Shift, new USB ports, and updated infotainment.

The Acadia facelift introduces GM’s Electronic Precision Shift, which replaces the conventional gear selector (shifter) with a push-button-style gear selection. The new design frees up center console space, increasing interior storage room.

Another neat interior feature on the 2020 Acadia interior is the addition of two USB-C ports to complement the three traditional USB-A charging ports.

The front and second rows each have a USB-A and USB-C ports located in the front and rear of the center console, while the third row has a USB-A port.

The 2020 Acadia interior also delivers the latest GMC infotainment system that adds a host of new features – improved voice recognition, a higher-resolution 8-inch touchscreen, and an improved interface.

The third-gen infotainment system also offers personal profiles that allow users to tailor the infotainment experience to their preference, and for those preferences to follow them once they get back in the vehicle, since the settings are assigned to the key fob.

  1. Does the new interior have clothes hangar hooks in the rear compartment? 2018 does not. Why have a SUV without some cargo features?

    1. I believe the grab handles also serve to be used has hangers.

      1. You are correct about grab handles but you can’t carry second row passengers AND hanging clothes. Up until the downsized 2017 Acadia, there were always hangars in the third row rear compartment. They are no longer there. My 2018 is my 5th Acadia, but this minor accessory may be a deal breaker at our next purchase.

  2. GMC totally ruined the Acadia when they started making it smaller!!! ????

    1. Pat, I can understand where you are coming from. I have been selling new GMCs at a dealer in Greeley, Colorado for the last 5 years and I have noticed something about the size of the new Acadia. Regardless of the new technology and features, the relationship with returning customers on the new Acadia have been compromised as more and more owners who I felt have been loyal to GMC are cross shopping for the likes of Honda and Toyota as a few of those models have remained true or false size dimensions. Fortunately the smaller size of the new Acadia has turned away buyers on numerous visits.

  3. It could not look more different from the XT6, inside and out.

Will we see a Buick this size in the next few years? That could be both a styling and a marketing challenge–to separate it enough from Cadillac and the Enclave. It might be easier to add rear wheel steering to the Enclave to make it drive smaller.

      1. Thanks, must have missed that article.
With just my eyeballs, it looks like the wheelbase is a couple inches shorter than the XT6, as is overall length. Perhaps it will replace Envision here.

Another reason for Cadillac to change back to names: Searching for XT6 pics got me mostly XT5’s. Hopefully, that will change with production comes.

  4. So they gave it the Terrain’s push button gear selection. Interesting, although people cussed this move on the 2018 Terrain they are still selling well. Just something to get used to.

  5. The Grille design for this refresh is just not working for the overall look of this SUV, within less than a year, this entire exterior will look dated. God I hope they don’t F—- Up the look of the upcoming Yukon!!!

  6. I think its crazy the vehicle will not run for more than an hour while in park. It now turns off automatically. I like leaving the dog in the vehicle while shopping etc and leave the heat or ac running. That has ended that!

  7. This You Tube video from the NYIAS of the Acadia Denali is worth a look–https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8p9boCWBCA
Also, is the Denali interior color limited to just the white seats and dark blue dashboard?

  8. I love my new Acadia. This is my 4th one but first with the smaller frame. I am packing for a trip and just realized this doesn’t have clothes hooks. Really? How tough could that be. Other than this issue I am very satisfied.
