Buick Enclave sales decreased 16 percent to 14,420 units in the fourth quarter of 2018 – a somewhat disappointing result given the ongoing market shift towards utility vehicles such as crossovers, SUV and trucks. So, in a potential effort to combat slumping sales in the highly-competitive mid-size SUV market, GM has introduced a new Buick discount on the Enclave for March 2019.
The Incentive
The nationwide Buick discount on the 2018 Enclave is a 16 percent discount below MSRP.
This deal is applicable to all 2018 Buick Enclave models except for 1SV (base) models. For reference, here are the applicable 2018 Buick Enclave MSRPs by trim level:
- Essence FWD (1SL) – $45,295
- Premium FWD (1SN) – $49,095
- Avenir FWD (1SP) – $54,495
- Essence AWD (1SL) – $47,295
- Premium AWD (1SN) – $51,391
- Avenir AWD (1SP) – $56,795
As such, this Buick discount brings the price of a range-topping Enclave Avenir model with an MSRP of $58,890 down to $49,467 using the following incentives:
- $2,659 price reduction below MSRP + $6,764 purchase allowance = $9,423 total discount

About Buick Enclave
The Buick Enclave is a premium full-size crossover utility vehicle (CUV). It is the biggest Buick crossover currently offered, slotting above the subcompact Buick Encore and compact Buick Envision.
The first generation Enclave was introduced for the 2009 model year to replace the Buick Rendezvous. It rode on the GM Lambda platform and was discontinued in 2017. The current, second-generation model was introduced for the 2018 model year. It rides on the extended-length GM C1 platform shared with the second-generation Chevrolet Traverse. A shorter variant of the same platform underpins the second-gen GMC Acadia and Cadillac XT5.
For the 2019 model year, the Enclave receives a new FWD Preferred (1SD) equipment group, the addition of the automatic function for the heated steering wheel and front row heated seats, as well as a new Ebony with Ebony interior accents interior.
Compared to its first-generation predecessor, the second-gen Enclave is an all-new vehicle that is larger, lighter, sleeker and more modern. It also introduces new trim levels, including the range-topping Enclave Avenir.
The Buick Enclave is built at the GM Delta Lansing Township factory in Michigan operated by GM USA. It is currently the only plant that builds the vehicle alongside the second-gen Chevy Traverse.

Buick should ask GM CEO Mary Barra for permission to have the 5.3 Liter V8 EcoTec3 L83 made as an available option for the Enclave as while it would give just a modest horsepower upgrade over the 3.6L DOHC-4v V6, the L83 with E85 gas generates 416 lbs-ft of torque @ 4,100 rpm.
Asked her for permission?!?!
Is she some sort of totalitarian dictator? Or Mommy Mary has to spanks her kids and get them to “ask for permission”? Lol.
GM is a massive company with teams of engineers, managers, and analysts that make decisions in a formal process. Little Mary is for photo ops mostly.
Does Mary Barra get her mega millions salary discounted when the company is not doing well under her watch too? Miss Mary is cutting jobs, plants, falling sales, stock prices and little profit. Oh, and Miss Mary likes making the federal and local governments mad at her and GM. Genius!
