2019 Chevrolet Malibu Hits Middle East Market

Chevrolet fans in the Middle East will have a new family sedan to purchase with the introduction of the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu to the region. The sedan, which is on sale now at dealerships across the region, has a starting price of 78,420 United Arab Emirates Dirhams, or $21,349.45 U.S. at current exchange rates.

“The 2019 Malibu has been extremely well received in our market, which comes as no surprise given it’s the most technologically advanced vehicle to bear the nameplate to date,” said Ahmed Soudodi, Head of Brand at Chevrolet Middle East & Africa. “I am confident it will continue the winning streak of its predecessor in the region.”

Under the hood is a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine making 163 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. That’s three horsepower more than the same engine in the Malibu available in the U.S. There’s an optional 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 250 horsepower.

Inside, customers get the same great interior Malibu customers can buy elsewhere. The Chevrolet Malibu features the new Chevrolet infotainment system that includes Apple CarPlay and voice recognition. The sedan also comes with both passive and active safety features that include semi-automatic parking, blind spot alert, lane departure warning, and much more.

“Fully equipped, the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu has the most comprehensive active safety features, which is paramount given its remit as a family car” added Ahmed Soudodi.

The 2019 Chevrolet Malibu is available in nine new exterior colors along with new wheel designs. The car will also come in three trims—LS, LT, and Premier. The 2019 Chevrolet Malibu is available now at dealerships across the region. The vehicle offers the latest technologies, amenities, and features, giving customers the most recent in Chevrolet design and engineering. While family sedans aren’t popular in the U.S. as they once were, the car is finding a home elsewhere.

  1. Malibu makes a good rental car in most markets. Cheap, but not too cheap, although not durable enough for taxi service.

  2. Good drive compared to rivals, horrible interior – – GM wild have been wise to let Impala fill the Chevrolet NA midsized space at a Malibu price point. Bean counters would have sobbed but this is how you take on Toyota and win!
As for Middle East Insignia would have been a better option if possible. Malibu is a nice ride, better than Fusion or Sonata, on par with the former Chrysler 200, but not a winner.

  3. A good move for the Malibu and should have been there since the current gen arrived in 2016. The Malibu is a solid mid sized sedan hobbled by poor marketing.
