This Remarkable Chevrolet Poem Recalls The Good Ol’ Days

This incredible Chevrolet poem was written by a man named Art Ebert, and harkens back to a time when Chevy cars were everywhere, as far as the eye could see.

Ebert’s poem names several iconic Chevrolet models – including the Impala, Chevelle, Corvette, and Monte Carlo, among others – while briefly touching upon the origins of each name. We don’t want to give too much away, so have a look below and read the verses for yourself.

I Remember, by Art Ebert

Well can I recall the days,

When all you had to say,

If asked what make of car you drove,

I could say a Chevrolet.

There were no other questions,

No further need was there,

To give an explanation,

It’s an Impala, or Corvair.

Then, Impala was an animal,

A something like a deer,

And Bel-Air was a race track,

Away out West I hear.

And Styleline would lead your thoughts,

To a certain cut of clothes,

Names like Chevelle and Corvette,

Who ever heard of those?

And Vega was a star,

A shining out in space,

And Monte Carlo brought to mind,

Thoughts of Europe – and a race.

Nomad was a wonderer,

And tales he could relate,

And Kingswood would remind you,

Of gentry, and his estate.

A few more names were found,

As seemed to fit the times,

Really have no meaning,

And hard to put in rhymes.

Rather turn the timer back,

When there was only one,

No fancy names or gimmicks,

The Chevrolet, watch it run.

We commend Mr. Ebert on composing this impressive work of art, while simultaneously naming other amazing automotive works of art.

  2. Chevy is the most sung-about Auto maker. Followed by Mercedes then Cadillac. I believe Cadillac takes the crown if you focus just on rap songs.
