I might be wrong but is there No Super Cruise?
Your not wrong. It is not available on the CT6 V.
Automatic start/stop WITH disable. If it can be applied to this application it should be applied to every application. You can put it in if you have to, but let me choose when to use it please.
You mean the car plenty of folks want but can’t have… nice GM. Company never ceases to disappoint…
“You mean the car plenty of folks want but can’t have… nice GM. Company never ceases to disappoint…”
What’s there to be disappointed about? GM made a car that people want, and GM deliberately restricted access to keep the demand high.
It’s the same practice that every other luxury automaker does, and it keeps GM from over-producing the CT6-V that would otherwise flood the market and remain unsold after 9 months, thereby killing the CT6-V’s resale value.
It sounds like a solid plan to me.
You seem to forget what a luxury product is; something that people want but cannot easily get. The CT6-V wouldn’t be a luxury if it was freely available. The same applies to anything else being sold as a luxury product; it ceases to be a luxury if it is commonplace.
Although I agree with you mostly, I think 2000 instead of 200 would have been better and at least given those of us who wanted one, could easily have afforded it , and have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on other Cadillacs, a chance to have one.
What pisses me off is they were all sold before they were available to order. My dealership got 1 and the owner of the dealership got it. This is true for several dealerships……
Having said that, my 2018 CT6 Platinum has full Aniline leather seats, the V only has leather seating surfaces. My ine has Super Cruise, not available on the V.
Take a look at the pics above, look at the back of the front seat, molded plastic. Mine are leather covered.
As a matter of fact my window sticker of $94,085 is at, or slightly above most of them. There are very few options on a CT6 Platinum….a wheel and spoiler package ($2,900+) and a few other lesser ones….
You could order the Platinum with the V8 option and tweak it up to 550 hp. Only 50 more. It’s possible since mine has been tweaked to 450 hp……..
Keep in mind these will not be available until August. Makes me wonder if they should have made them 2020’s………
Hmm… still seems a bit more V-sport than V. Tires don’t seem very aggressive. It may need a performance package.
Just a hunch.
Have you ever driven a CT6 3.0 TT . Well I own one. They don’t need a performance package. Those 550 horses will get the job done…..
Forward low speed auto braking is standard but not reverse? I’d rather have reverse. Parking next to a big pickup or SUV is dangerous.
Almost everything worth having that’s on the TTV6 Platinum but only $2k more than it for the V8.
That interior picture looks like something out a car costing half as much as this. Not a good thing at all. Will be interesting to see acceleration times for this V8 trim level.
Color options are downright atrocious. What’s the theme? Dark and depressing? Gray everywhere. And too much plastic. I’ve sat in side the top grim CT6. For a near 6 figure price tag, I was shocked there’s still some hard plastics in that interior. There’s no excuse not to have soft touch plastic everywhere you can see and touch for a car costing almost $100,000.
Worse than gray, it’s black. That’s the worst thing about recent Cadillacs–too much black inside.
I would rather have carpet on the bottom of the door so it won’t show marks from my shoe. I don’t know why they stopped doing that–too many must have come unglued.
My CT6 is junk and is what is now a typical Cadillac. Half the technology does not work properly. Had in the dealership probably 6 times and they are as incompetent as the people who made the car. Mercedes here I come.
Is this car continuing or not? First GM announced, and later confirmed, it was being killed. Then GM said they never intended to kill it. Rather they were shopping production sites for it with China among them. Since then, there’s been nothing further announced.
I’m starting to think the original announcement was the most accurate but GM was looking stupid touting the CT6-V and trying to drum up enthusiasm for it while at the same time being on record that production would soon end. I’m thinking that perhaps the Ruess/Carlisle statement was a ruse to sell as many cars as possible for what’s left of the products life, which is, in fact, down to a few months.
I hope I’m wrong.
As of now the CT6 is not listed on the 2020 MY Production StartUp list. It does however give dates for XT4, XT5, XT6 and Escalade. It also lists Lux Sedan 2(A2SL) and Lux Sedan 3(A2LL) with Start Dates TBD. I am guessing A2SL and A2LL stands for Alpha Platform 2 Short Length and Alpha Platform 2 Long Length. It does not make sense to me at all that Cadillac Finally Builds the car the buyers have wanted and now they are discontinuing it.
BW,
GM’s actions often don’t make sense because they are usually short-sighted and financially motivated.
It sounds like CT6 is actually being dropped after all. Perhaps they really are trying to find a place to build it but we really only have a couple of off-the-cuff remarks from Ruess and Carlisle to suggest that it will live on while we have an official statement from the Chairman and CEO of GM saying production is ending. We also received confirmation of that from a Cadillac spokesperson.
I could see after the marketing hype over CT6 V is over and the current CT6 inventory has been offloaded, GM going back and saying they tired to find a plant to keep production going but couldn’t so the car will die as originally announced.
I did not see 5-mode massage/reclining rear seats in the list. The videos from April 2018 NYIAS had no controls on the sides of the rear center arm rest for the then-CT6-VSport. Only the Platinum next to it had them.
Looks like the massage seats should be offered as standard for front driver and passenger. And why not have rear reclining massage heated and ventilated seats as standard? Seems to me this car is not being given full potential and being sandbagged.
With the starting price being at $88K, this seems more V-Sport like pricing. This car should be at least $100K asking price. A Platinum version of the base Blackwing could be priced higher than the V-Series model with only 50 fewer HP. This car should be excellent against the competition but this Cadillac comes across as an S8 competitor than the S63 AMG competitor and don’t come across as a true V Series. Anyway, I’m hopeful that this car will be the benchmark in chassis engineering.
Anyone with info on when they plan to offer ordering for the additional allocation of ct6-v’s or the platinums with the detuned v8? I was just at dealership and they were unaware of any additional allocation of V’s other than the 275 preordered or options available on the V. Thanks.
