Listen To The Flowmaster FlowFX Exhaust For The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado: Video

General Motors new line of 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and 2019 GMC Sierra pickups only just arrived, but already the aftermarket is working on delivering upgrade parts for these new trucks.

Flowmaster recently put together a video showing off its new FlowFX cat-back exhaust system, which fits the 2019 Silverado 1500 and 2019 Sierra 1500 Crew Cab and Double Cab with the 5.3-liter engine. The company says the bolt-on exhaust system is “manufactured using durable 409 stainless steel throughout and features a 3.00-inch inlet pipe leading to a single inlet/dual outlet FlowFX straight-through muffler for a deep, moderately aggressive sound and maximum performance.” The 4.5-inch exhaust tips, meanwhile, are ceramic coated in black for an aggressive look.

With two 2.5-inch tailpipes custom routed to clear the factory spare tire and tow hitch and to exit out through the OEM exhaust bezels in the bumper, the best part of this Flowmaster system is that it retains the refined appearance of the factory dual exhaust. Flowmaster says the kit also utilizes factory exhaust mounting points and comes with instructions and all the necessary hardware for at home installation.

This exhaust system is designed for the 2019 Silverado 1500 and 2019 Sierra 1500 Crew Cab and Double Cab, but will not fit the single cab work truck trims or any trucks with the factory single exhaust system. It won’t fit Crew Cab two-wheel drive models with the two piece driveshaft, either.

Flowmaster uses its own rating scale to determine the aggressiveness of its various products’ exhaust notes and rates this system as having a ‘Moderate’ interior sound level but an ‘Aggressive’ exterior sound level. If you want your 5.3-liter Silverado or Sierra to sound mean, the FlowFX from Flowmaster might be worth checking out.

You can listen to Flowmaster’s 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and 2019 GMC Sierra exhaust for yourself in the video above. The company provides sound clips taken from both inside the cabin and out of it as well.

  1. Those baseline numbers seem low for rwhp, and the gains based on those low baselines seems pretty high for just an exhaust. I think some dyno manipulation in their favor was done

while the exhaust does sound good, GM V8s produce great sound with a muffler delete and a $50 piece of stainless pipe swapped in place

  2. Too bad its from Flowmaster. Small mufflers, high drone, poor corrosion prevention.

  3. Magna flow dual cat back on 6.0 vortec with KN cool air intake SOUNDS GREAT AND MORE EVERYTHING HP AND TORQUE ! Why pay extra for factory exhaust?

    1. Cold air intakes, especially over priced open box K&N ‘warm air’ intakes, have proven to have little to no gains on GM trucks without also doing a custom tune

  4. There is no need to buy a cold air intake for the GM trucks, they already produce cold air. You just need a high flow air filter and a straight modular tube like an Air Raid Jr kit. With that and the exhaust should make it sound really good. Only thing about gains is that you will only see those “gains” in higher rpm range mostly.
