Ex-F1 Driver Rubens Barrichello in JDC Miller Cadillac For Daytona

JDC Miller Motorsports has announced its full driver lineup for 2019 – the team’s first season running the Cadillac DPi-V.R.

In the No. 85 JDC Miller Cadillac DPi-V.R will be Tristan Vautier and Misha Goikhberg, with former F1 driver and F1 race winner Rubens Barrichello joining them for the Rolex 24. Canadian racer Devlin DeFrancesco will also drive the No. 85 at Daytona, while former IndyLights driver Juan Piedrahita will drive the No. 85 for the remaining Michelin endurance rounds.

In the No. 84 Cadillac DPi-V.R sister car will be Stephen Simpson and Simon Trummer, with Chris Miller driving joining them for the Michelin Cup endurances races and Juan Piedrahita completing the Rolex 24 at Daytona lineup.

JDC Miller Oreca in 2018

JDC Miller has campaigned the global Oreca LMP2 chassis and Gibson V8 engine the previous two seasons, but with IMSA electing to split the LMP2 and DPi categories for 2019, the team went looking for a DPi supplier. It found one in the way of General Motors and Cadillac and will be hoping for race wins and podiums with the highly successful Dallara chassis and 5.5-liter V8 engine.

“We are very excited about our driver roster for the Rolex 24 and the whole season,” said JDC-Miller team owner John Church.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Rubens to the team,” he added. “It’s an honour for us, it’s a great opportunity for our team and we look forward to providing him with a very competitive effort.”

“I can’t wait! I love this race and I am very happy to return,” Barrichello said. “I know the team had a good event last year with a sixth-place finish. I am excited to work hard for a great finish and have an enjoyable weekend and give the fans a great race.”

Juncos Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R at pre-season testing

JDC Miller is one of two newcomers to the Cadillac family for 2019. Juncos Racing has acquired single Cadillac DPi-V.R for 2019 and will field Will Owen and Kyle Kaiser full-time, with Rene Binder and Agustin Canapino completing the lineup for endurance events. They will join returning Cadillac teams Wayne Taylor Racing (1 car) and Action Express Racing (2 cars) in the IMSA Prototype class.

The Cadillac DPi-V.R teams will be present at the official Roar Before the 24 test, which will be hosted at Daytona from January 4th to the 6th. The 2019 Rolex 24 at Daytona is set to go green on Saturday, January 26th, 2019.
