Chevrolet Silverado Is ‘A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Rock ‘n’ Roll’: Ad Break

General Motors officially launched its massive new ad campaign for the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado yesterday.
The campaign kicked off with the airing of a new 60-second commercial for the Silverado during coverage of the College Football Playoff National Championship last night. The commercial, entitled ‘A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Rock ‘n’ Roll’ is a step away from the poorly received (yet allegedly effective) ‘Real People, Not Actors’ ads that Chevrolet has become known for and aims to paint the Silverado in a romantic, unmistakably American light.
The ad is based around the lyrics to the classic ‘Donny & Marie Osmond’ song of the same name. It shows people from different walks of life using their Silverados in different ways, from working on the farm to transporting band equipment to drag racing and more. It’s an effective ad, in our opinion, and properly captures America’s undying love for the pickup truck. More than anything, we think viewers will just be happy not to see another ‘Real People, Not Actors’ commercial.
“This spot celebrates the fact that the all-new Silverado is designed and engineered for all facets of America,” the automaker said in a statement.
‘A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Rock ‘n’ Roll’ is one of three video ads Chevrolet has put together to market the new Silverado. ‘Official Truck of Real People’ showcases the new Silverado’s uses as a truck for both work and play, while ‘Tailgates’ displays the pickup’s segment-exclusive power up/down tailgate.
If you missed the airing of ‘A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Rock ‘n’ Roll’ during the College National game last night, you can check it out embedded above. Versions of this ad, along with the other two new Chevrolet Silverado ads, will also appear on various digital platforms and in movie theaters across America in coming months.
The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado is available now.
Love that commercial. And the truck just looks better and better each time I see it.
Pretty good, it kept my attention. But it’s so slow I wouldn’t want to watch it twice.
Cheesy. Would prefer original copy, not a dramatization of an old Osmond song. The other two ads in the campaign are much better.
Once is enough.
Maybe the lyrics from a sorta-hit song from 1977 will resonate with potential Silverado buyers?
This is indeed better but man this one here still sets the bar for me! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7yZdOl_e_c&t=16s
Think you should have considered speaking to the osmonds. But I agree with Edward, the farmer one is better.
