Chevrolet Discounts Trax By Over $3,000 In January 2019

Chevrolet Trax sales increased 16.48 percent to 22,378 units in the fourth quarter of 2018. The increase is not surprising considering the current market trends, which strongly favor SUVs and crossovers over sedans. And now, in what could be a way to maintain sales volume in the rapidly-growing yet highly-competitive subcompact crossover SUV segment, a new Chevrolet discount reduces the price of select Trax models by over $3,000.

  • 2019 Trax: $2,250 total cash allowance; not available with special finance or lease offers
  • 2018 Trax: $3,250 total cash allowance on select in-stock models when financing with GM Financial

For reference, here are the applicable 2018 and 2019 Trax trim levels and their corresponding starting MSRPs:

2019 Trax:

  • LS – $22,295

  • Premier – $28,595

2018 Trax:

  • LS – $21,995

The $3,250 Chevrolet discount as it applies to an in-stock 2019 Trax LT model with an MSRP of $24,195 brings the starting price of said model to just $20,945, which is even more affordable than a regularly-priced 2018 Trax LS – the base model of the prior model year. Meanwhile, the $3,250 Chevrolet discount brings the starting price of the 2018 Trax LS to $18,745.

About Chevrolet Trax

The Chevrolet Trax is a subcompact crossover utility vehicle. It slots below the Equinox as Chevrolet's smallest CUV and rides on the GM Gamma 2 platform shared with the Chevrolet Sonic/Aveo and Buick Encore. The model was Chevrolet's first offering in the subcompact (B segment) crossover space and the second (after the Nissan Juke) to launch in its segment in the U.S. market.

Having launched for the 2015 model year in the U.S., the Trax received a refresh for the 2017 model year that consisted of all-new front and rear fascias, the replacement of the LTZ trim by the new range-topping Premier model, revised interior, a new infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and more.

The 2019 Trax got three new exterior colors and a new Premier badge on the tailgate. The 2020 model is expected to be the last model year of the current, first-generation Trax before an all-new, second-generation model arrives.

The Trax, which is called the Chevrolet Tracker in some markets like South America, Russia and the CIS, is built at the following GM plants:

  1. Looks like it’s a good time to buy if you can locate one. Locally they never have any on the lot because they wont order them.

    1. Now you know why you shouldn’t buy from a dealer. Dealers only know how to sell cars. They don’t know what the public actually wants.
