General Motors’ second ad in its new marketing campaign for the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado, entitled ‘The Official Truck of Real People’ follows a similar path to the flagship ad for the campaign, ‘A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Rock ‘n Roll’.
Both the ads attempt to show off the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado’s wide range of uses and mass appeal. ‘The Official Truck of Real People’ shows the different ways that everyday folks use their Silverados and how they rely on their trucks to take them to work, drive their families around, support their business or just enjoy some time off.
The copy from the ad reads:
“Introducing the all new Chevy Silverado. It’s the official truck of callused hands and elbow grease. Of rolling up your sleeves and never backing down. The official truck of getting to work and getting to work. The official truck of dog days, late nights and date nights. Of measure twice and honk three. It’s the official truck of homecoming, and coming home. The all new Chevy Silverado: the strongest and most advanced Silverado ever. It’s the official truck of real people.”
All three of GM’s spots for the 2019 Silverado (the third being ‘Tailgates’) will air on television, digital and in movie theaters across in the US in the first few months of 2019. The ad Silverado campaign debuted earlier this week when the long-form, 60-second version of ‘A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Rock ‘n Roll’ aired during the College Football Playoff National Championship on January 7th.

I am sure those guys at the work dont give a dam about with the dash looks like when they are trying to get their work done!
They just want a truck that can get them to the next site to do that work there.
Yeah, I’ll bet these real people don’t mind spending $60,000 on a truck that consistently comes in third place in 3 truck comparisons.
If you are buying a truck based on what the auto mags and media are saying then you are a idiot!
And give them a good ride without the low profile tires of the fragile ford limited trim
I like the AD campaign that they’re coming out with!
Nice to see them move on from ‘real people. not actors’.
Oh, but …
The ‘official truck of calluses’ might kind of conflict with using a key fob to open and close the tailgate.
Nice to have. But –
Doesn’t seem like a ‘callus guy’ thing.
Mary must be one happy little rich chairwoman. She has single handedly killed off 6 sedans, down graded the looks of the past several MCE’s, given us a third place half baked Silverado/Sierra, destroyed thousands of people lives, sold off Opel and is committed to a fantasyland future of ZERO ZERO ZERO! Enjoy your millions while you still have a job darling!
Did GM make money last year? I do believe that they did! And I do believe that they will make money this year! So what are you complaining about?
