2019 Camaro Arrives In Russia In Unique Configuration

The international launch of Chevy’s refreshed 2019 Camaro is in full swing. After its arrival in South Korea last month, Chevrolet’s updated muscle car is now coming to Russia, just two years after the introduction of the sixth generation model in the market.

The 2019 Camaro arrives in Russia exclusively in the Coupe body style and in a single trim level. Specifically, the model features exterior design elements of the Camaro SS (prior to the upcoming 2019i/ 2019 interim update), while featuring the equipment level of the Camaro 2LT with the RS package.

Notably, this configuration is currently not available in any other markets. The reasoning for offering the 2019 Camaro this form in Russia is unclear.

In any event, the Russian-market 2019 Camaro is equipped with GM’s turbo-charged 2.0L LTG I4 engine making 237 horsepower, less than the regular 275 horsepower as a result of market-specific detuning. It is paired exclusively to GM’s 8-speed automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the 2LT trim level (equipment group) includes:

• Sunroof
• Eight airbags
• Brembo brakes
• Remote engine start
• Dual climate control
• Ventilated and heated front seats
• Heated steering wheel
• 8-way driver’s adjustable seat
• Memory for the driver’s seat and mirrors

The Bow Tie brand’s third-generation Chevrolet multimedia system is also present. The updates system includes an 8-inch touch screen, plus support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The sports car also includes the rear camera mirror, which provides significantly improved rearward visibility over a traditional rearview mirror.

The refreshed 2019 Camaro is now available at Chevrolet dealers across Russia. Starting prices begin at 2,990,000 rubles, or about $43,500 USD, at current exchange rates.
