About Chevrolet Malibu

The Chevrolet Malibu is a mid-size sedan sold in most markets where Chevrolet has a business presence. It is currently Chevrolet's second-largest sedan, in the U.S. and Canada, slotting above the subcompact Chevrolet Sonic and compact Chevrolet Cruze but under the full-size Chevrolet Impala.

The current, ninth-generation model was introduced in 2016. It rides on the GM E2 platform shared with the Buick Regal, Opel/Vauxhall Insignia, Holden Commodore NG, and the Cadillac XT4.

For 2019 - the fourth model year of the ninth-gen model - the Malibu received a midcycle enhancement, otherwise known as a facelift or refresh, that consists of revised exterior styling, a new Malibu RS trim level, a CVT transmission for L, LS, LT and RS models, a new infotainment system, a new 8-inch reconfigurable driver information center (DIC), LED headlamps on the Premier model, and various other new features.

  1. Huge improvements for the 2019 model – new colors. GM is going through the motions, and wondering why they aren’t selling cars.

  2. I would be willing to make a substantial bet that if a 2019 Malibu were pitted against a same year Camry, Accord, Altima, Sonata, Optima, Passat and Fusion that it would either come in dead last or next to last. Giving your product the lowest powered engine in it’s class, making consumers spring for a high end model to get safety features, giving it a sub par interior and making a car that just gets the job done tends to do that.

    1. Smart people know the quality of Nissan has gone downhill since Renault became the parent company, Honda quality has also suffered for years, especially with them putting CVT transmissions in their cars, Hyundai has made terrible cars starting in 2011 that include numerous engine problems, and SUV’s catching on fire on the road, including some owners dying and others barely escaping, plus myriad recalls and lawsuits galore, and Volkswagen has been making subpar vehicles for decades, yet your only criticism of Chevrolet is a small engine, which includes a turbo no less?

    2. The Camry actually looks awesome compared to the catfish looking Malibu
