GMC Sierra sales decreased 7.15 percent to 51,368 units in the third quarter – somewhat concerning results given the ongoing market shift towards trucks and SUVs and away from sedans. So for December 2018, a new, headline-making GMC discount reduces the Sierra HD price by over $11,000.
The Incentive
GMC provides the following example offer of its incentive on the 2018 Sierra 2500HD Denali Crew Cab equipped with the Duramax Plus Package: $4,818 price reduction plus a $750 option package discount and a purchase allowance of $5,750. The result is a total value of $11,318 off the MSRP when one finances with GM Financial.
This GMC discount is only applicable to 2018 GMC Sierra Denali HD Crew Cab models. For reference, here are the 2018 Sierra HD Denali configurations and their corresponding MSRPs:
- Sierra 2500HD Denali – $56,345
- Sierra 3500HD Denali – $56,400
As such, the GMC discount brings the starting price of the 2018 Sierra 2500HD Denali Crew Cab from $56,345 to a very palatable $45,777.

There’s something a little off with the author’s figures… a search in my region doesn’t reveal any 2500 Denali’s anywhere near an MSRP of $56k. Maybe $56k after $11k off. That $46k figure is a bit (way) off.
Please see the “STARTING AT:” price for the “2018 SIERRA 2500 DENALI HD”
I’ve copied and pasted below:
STARTING AT: $56,345†
AS SHOWN: $69,695†

Price does not include destination charge.
BFD…11K off of a one year old truck is not enough. Knock off 30% and you have my attention. The 18s should have been gone months ago.
Not with the duramax
You have to actually read the article to understand it, Christopher. The figures listed are STARTING prices for base models.
Now, the starting price for a 2018 Sierra HD is $56,345. Take $11,000 (and change) off that and what do you get?
As you can see, there is nothing off about the figures. You’re just looking at optioned trucks, while the article references starting prices.
Here in AZ, seems like their way overpriced. I’d buy in a heartbeat for 46k
The least expensive 2018/2019 (with a Gas Engine) on all of Autotrader is $53,300.
I’m hoping this is also for the 2019 we’ve preordered already n hadn’t received yet, if so that’s awesome n worth the wait !! Looking forward to receiving my Denali 3500HD Crew Cab #WJQF1F was ordered on Aug.17 2018… Cant Wait
Mike – for the time being, this incentive is only applicable to 2018 model year vehicles.
The author applies a diesel discount to a base price. Either he or she is uneducated or there is money coming in from “SOMEONE” lol!
It seems you haven’t read the finer details – the Duramax Plus Package discount was not included when calculating the price after the discount.
If these vehicles were realistically priced you would not need these “drastic mark downs”. Don’t you realize the penalty this creates for purchasers in North East where we have an excise tax each year based on fictitious MSRP price?
