So GM should keep shipping half-built trucks up to Oshawa to finish assembly?
#MadeinCanadaMatters #SaveOshawaGM bring back our products from Mexico
Why not take a job at Fort Wayne if you want to keep building trucks? Frankly I’m surprised that GM was shipping half-built trucks all the way up to Canada to be completed.
And yet they want to move more product to Mexico and out of the #1 plant for quality and productivity! How does Mexican wages compare with the recalls now?

let’s assume for argument’s sake these trucks were made in mexico.
so, 154 cars recalled. mexican workers being paid less than $5/hr. canadian workers paid 4 or 5 times as much?
yeah … manufacturing in mexico is still a great from a financial point of view.
And yet you want to ignore the fact that Fort Wayne is still alive and well, winning awards for quality and building a LOT of GM half-ton trucks.
How do you know its from the Mexico plants? Unless you can see the VIN# you have no idea. FYI, the Lordstown plant always had quality issues. So seems American’s can’t built cars right either. My new 2019 Terrain built in Mexico was put together better than my 2016 2nd Gen Cruze.
Terrain has just a misaligned door. Cruze had very misaligned trunk, over head console hung down had to be taken down and put back in correctly. Paint issues on door jam and hood. Spoiler leaked water into trunk. I would rather things be made in the US but we also need a work force that cares for what the build.
Definitely wasn’t made in Oshawa if they are crew cabs
The crew cabs are being made in Fort Wayne, Indiana now genius.
VIN#??? The Vehicle Identification Number Number???
Have a new 2019 GMC AT4, hope I’m not part of the recall, otherwise this truck has been faultless, and I am extremely happy with it so far
These trucks were made in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Those trucks were assembled in Fort Wayne. With 46% Mexican content there’s a good chance the module came from Mexico or China. One thing Mary Barra has been very good at is staying on top of recalls. Mom always said if you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all. Guess I’m done with the Mary Barra niceties.
