2019 Cadillac Escalade Sport: Live Photo Gallery

For the most part, the 2019 Cadillac Escalade remains unchanged compared to the 2018 model. Cadillac did, however, introduce the new Escalade Sport Edition at the Los Angeles Auto Show that adds a little more oomph and stealth to the big-and-bad SUV with a blacked-out appearance.

With this latest edition, car enthusiasts will no longer have to turn to aftermarket parts to achieve that “murdered out” look. Upon its initial announcement, Cadillac provided only one photo for the Sport package. Luckily, we were able to snap some up-close and personal shots at the just-concluded Los Angeles Auto Show.

  • Gloss black body-side trim pieces
  • “Midnight Silver” finish on 22-inch wheels

As with all Escalade models of the current generation, the Escalade Sport edition remains powered by GM’s 6.2L V8 L86 engine that produces 420 horsepower and 460 horsepower mated to the new GM 10-speed automatic transmission that sends power through rear- or all-wheel-drive. The combination enables the full-size SUV to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just under 6 seconds. GM’s coveted Magnetic Ride Control is standard, ensuring a competent ride, that can be adjusted for sport or comfort.

That’s just lame, they should’ve called Midnight package or whatever name they use for the ATS & CTS.

    1. $85K Tahoe? As opposed to the $85K Expedition? Or the $85K Land Cruiser? Or the $85K Pathfinder? or the $85K Touareg at Porsche and Audi. Get a grip.

      2. I think the point I was making is the cost of purchasing any one of the vehicles you listed. Specifically the GM family it is the same vehicle. Mechanically it is very similar. I’m not questioning the usefulness of the platform. My point is what is the difference between the least expensive and most expensive models on that platform. Where I live the difference between the Tahoe and Escalade at the upper end is $30K. That’s real money to me. Are the interior and exterior differences enough to justify $30K? How much of that is prestige for the Cadillac name? It was also a general comment on the price of this class of vehicle to begin with. If you or someone else is living the dream and feel that these vehicles are a reasonable value I congratulate you on your journey of wealth. I simply believe they are not reasonably priced. I also stick by my earlier comment. It IS a good looking vehicle.

        1. Such is the desire of people with means, or at least people with a desire to appear as such. The thing is GM, Toyota, VW, Ford, Nissan, are all corporations that have alternative cheaper versions of many of their products, but people have no problem spending extra for the name, or prestige,or styling. Cadillac sells so many Escalades that there is a wonder that they don’t come out tomorrow with an actual VSeries of it with the LT4 under the hood and an additional $30K on the hood. And it would sell.. Instantly all the negative stuff we’ve read about GM over the past two weeks would be forgotten.

The Tahoe ranges from $47K all the way to $75K all by itself. The Denali touches on $81K. and people love them.

BTW.. the only reason Mercedes and BMW don’t do it is because they are singular brands.

  3. This is just another example that General Motors CEO Mary Barra needs to be replaced because if you’re going to build a special edition of Cadillac’s Escalade and charge buyers then you’ve got to do the things that will make the Cadillac Escalade Sport special like having the Blackwing 550-horsepower 4.2-liter twin-turbo DOHC-4v V8.

    1. That comment is irrelevant since the future Cadillacs will be engineered to get this engine. Does not make sense financially to put a brand new engine in an outgoing model and dealers are slashing prices for the very last year of the current cycle.

  5. I’ve been complaining about the lack of a true successor to the 2012-2014 Escalade ‘Premium’ which imo was truly a Premium/Sport PKG complete with the clear tail/brake lenses and DUAL EXHAUST! This is literally the only vehicle in this class (and only Cadillac) without dual exhaust. Hell a 4 banger Nissan Altima with the crappy CVT even has dual exhaust as with everything else these days. I plan on buying a 16′ and going aftermarket to achieve this very look. Now if we can just get a Panoramic Roof then this will complete the $100k look!
