General Motors and ACDelco announced an expansion of parts and fluids to meet growing customer demand. GM Genuine Parts and ACDelco will be more readily available and the newest parts and fluid have been designed to give independent shops more incentive to use factory parts.
David Mestdagh, general director of global product development, GM Customer Care and Aftersales, said the new parts join more than 14,000 parts across 10 different product lines to our aftermarket parts portfolio. Included in the new parts and fluids are professional severe duty brake products, synthetic blend SN plus motor oils, hybrid and beam wiper blades and advantage bearings.
The brake products include caliper, pad and rotors for 2010 model year and newer Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks. GM and ACDelco said the rotors, specifically, feature “S” grooves that help increase pedal feel, especially while towing. The new synthetic oil blend has been engineered to help prevent low-speed pre-ignition in turbocharged engines and reduce friction during cold starts. Those in search of wiper blades will find the new blades fit 10.6 million GM vehicles with 11 part numbers and 23 million GM vehicles with seven part numbers. And the advantage bearings have been expanded to all makes and models dating back to 1942 model-year vehicles.
Finally, GM Genuine Parts and ACDelco will also offer professional air conditioning seal kits and professional air conditioning condensers with automatic transmission oil coolers.
Aside from the new parts, both companies also announced a new “my GM Partner Perks” program. The program is designed to help independent service centers, body shops and fleets grow their businesses with the purchase of GM and ACDelco parts.
“We designed it to offer aftermarket repair shops benefits that drive profitability and productivity. It’s simple and easy to earn rewards on General Motor’s entire parts portfolio,” Jean Hoglund, director of marketing at GM’s Customer Care and Aftersales, said.
Perks include marketing support, purchase rewards, training and repair assistance, and business support discounts. The loyalty program will roll out in the first quarter of 2019

TMA Sean what is synthetic blend SN? What is SN?
SN is a motor oil specification from the API or American Petroleum Institute. The SN spec was introduced in 2010. SN Plus is a new spec designed for turbocharged gasoline engines:
API SN PLUS is a new motor oil specification developed for turbocharged engines that is being developed in response to automakers request for motor oils that protect against Low-Speed Pre-Ignition (LSPI). LSPI is an engine condition known to occur in Turbocharged Gasoline Direct Injection (TGDI) engines that can be mitigated by changing the motor oil formulation.
Will these parts void the factory warranty?
