Watch This Chevrolet Camaro Racer Rip Up A Hill Climb: Video

Last month, British Columbia hosted the Knox Mountain Hillclimb event and one car in particular absolutely ripped through the corners as it climbed. This 1995 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 driven by a racer known as Mr. Jensen provided a bellowing soundtrack through the hills.
While it is indeed a Chevrolet Camaro, it’s more like a tube-frame race car that looks like a Camaro. Nevertheless, the racer makes 600 horsepower from an undisclosed naturally aspirated V8 engine. The video description said the Camaro provided a lot of attention for attendees thanks to its maddening soundtrack as it raced up the hill, and Jensen’s driving style was a fan favorite—there was lots of controlled sliding for unimportant style points.
As the Camaro raced up the hill, it sounds and looks more like a NASCAR racer doing its best to tackle the tight corners and twists. Perhaps this is what a fourth-generation Camaro NASCAR racer would have looked like back in the day. It looks pretty darn good to us.
After Jensen’s go, he ended up being the fifth fastest driver of the day at the hill climb event. A solid outing for a car with serious performance that we imagine would be more at home on a drag strip. Check out the full video right up above.
That’s how hill-climbs should be driven! And what a sound!
