About Buick LaCrosse
The Buick LaCrosse is a full-size premium sedan that slots above the compact Buick Verano and midsize Buick Regal. The current, third-generation LaCrosse was introduced for the 2017 model year. The vehicle is based on the long wheelbase variant of the GM E2 platform. The short-wheelbase variant of the same platform is shared with the sixth-generation Buick Regal and ninth-generation Chevrolet Malibu.
The 2018 model introduced several new colors and the GM 9-speed automatic transmission in place of the 2017 model's 8-speed. It also added a new standard powertrain in the form of the mild-hybrid 2.5L engine with eAssist coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission. In addition, the 2018 LaCrosse Avenir was introduced to serve as the range-topping model.
The 2019 LaCrosse introduced two new colors and a Sport Touring (1SH) trim. A refresh is expected for the 2020 model year.
The third-generation LaCrosse is built at the following plants:
- GM Detroit Hamtramck factory operated by GM USA supplying North America
- Jinqiao South factory operated by Shanghai GM supplying China
In November 2018, General Motors announced that it will discontinue the Buick LaCrosse in the United States market, a move that will result in the idling of the Detroit-Hamtramck plant where it's built. The vehicle will remain available in China.

Ugly. At least in pics. Same with the blue on the Cobalt, I mean ATS coupe.
State Trooper Green.
That’s a very ugly color.
Terrible color. According to Mark Reuss this car is ” a more beautiful Panemera”. I lost all respect for that guy.
The LaCrosse is a better looker than a Panamera, which is not and never has been attractive. The LaCrosse, meanwhile, is attractive at worst, and gorgeous at best.
I’ll put it this way: Panamera chassis with a LaCrosse body is better than a Panamera chsssis and a Panamera body.
I’m with you Alex, but why do we need to downgrade it with ugly colors?
What a shame that Buick’s most winsome design is plagued by such a tedious, unimaginative color palette. To say it’s boring is a disservice to boredom. It’s stupefying. For 2019, along with State Trooper Green we get two shades of white, two shades of black, three shades of silver/gray, and Pooperdust. To the “color selectors” I would say something often heard during the 1970s: “Man, name three of what you’re on!”
Does it even matter? The dealer nearest to me has a lot full of grey LaCrosses they can’t move. I doubt most people have even heard of one, there has been no promotion that I can remember. I saw one the other day on the road and it really stood out. Too Bad, it will be gone soon.
Beautiful color. How come we can never seen to get Caddy’s in dark green? The CT6 had a beautiful dark green color a few years ago, sad to see it go.
That shade of green reminds me too much of the old Buick Century from 1997-2005 with the 160HP 3.1L V6. Interior is great but the exterior color takes away from this masterpiece. ***** 5 Star Interior with a * 1 Star Exterior color.
From 2000-2005 the Century 3100 actually made 175 horses and 195 torque because they switched over to the 3400 heads with bigger valves.
another boring color from GM and the interior colors are worst I think their all color blind
