Chevy’s 2019 Silverado HD Picks Up New ‘Tribute Edition’ Model

While an all-new version of Chevy’s Heavy Duty Silverado trucks are still forthcoming, new for the 2019 model year is a “Tribute Edition” model aimed at some of Silverado’s more patriotic U.S. customers. The model is made distinct from more ordinary versions of the 2019 Silverado HD by a number of features, but there’s one that really sticks out: American flag-inspired decals on either side of the truck, stretching from the front fenders to the box sides.

Features
It’s not all about the flag, though; the 2019 Silverado HD Tribute Edition also features black bowtie emblems on the front and rear – a nice little detail that Chevy seems to have taken a shine to on numerous special-edition models – along with a chrome-finish lower skid plate, spray-on bedliner (RPO code CGN) and Front and Rear Park Assist (RPO code UD5).
The Tribute Edition package requires the Silverado HD Z71 Off-road Package, so that trucks that are so-equipped also get Z71 badging on the front doors. The Z71 pickup box decal delete (RPO code 9R1) is required, and chrome bodyside moldings (RPO code B85) are removed.
Availability
The Tribute Edition package (RPO code STY) is available on the 2019 Chevy Silverado HD in LTZ trim only, either as a 2500HD with 4WD, a standard box, and crew cab (CK25743 model) or a 3500HD with the same drivetrain, box, and cab (CK35743). As we’ve said, it requires the Z71 Off-road Package, along with six-inch chrome tubular rectangular Assist Steps (Limited Production Option VXH) or No Assist Steps/Alternate Steps (RPO code R8M).
Conflicting packages that can’t be had with the new Tribute Edition package include:
- Midnight Edition (RPO code WJP)
- Custom Sport Edition (RPO code PDX)
- Black bowtie emblems (LPO code SFZ)
- Havana Metallic exterior paint (RPO code G2X)
- Graphite Metallic exterior paint (RPO code GPA)
- Cajun Red Tintcoat exterior paint (RPO code GPJ)
Price
The 2019 Silverado HD Tribute Edition package wears a price tag of $2,025, not including the $3,500 price of the required Z71 Off-road Package. If the available six-inch chrome Assist Steps are desired, that’s another $775. All told, you’re looking at a $57,495 minimum MSRP for a 2019 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Tribute Edition with the available Assist Steps, including destination.

$2,025 for a sticker package (and black bowties) on top of $3,500 for a Z71 package that was $500 last model year? I think I’ll pass.
That is very patriotic of GM to put a flag on a Chevy pickup and only charge $60,000 for it. At least, it is made in the USA, I think.
I was hoping that the new 2500-3500 would finally get round fenders like the 1500 for 19. GM seems to lack ability to design a truck that has a harmonious well contoured exterior. From a mechanical view point I do like the truck…..can’t get past the appearance.
This is the same Truk as the 2018. The new model is not out yet. It will be a 2020. So we will have to wait and see what the wheel wells will look like.
If this is a 2018 HD where is the hood scoop?
Or do only diesel engines have it?
I went on the web site before answering because I wasn’t sure. It show just the Diesel with the hood scoops.
When your stock is at .23 cents a share you need to get it up what better way too make the Stockholders happy then to have Over priced Option’s
So American Chuvy, Why didn’t they for the prices they are charging, Put a red, white, blue painted Flag as apposed to their bright idea ? That is ok ,not Kool in any way.
This is really kool I like it a lot!
Mechanically sound 100% so no issues there (I can only speak for the 6.0), steep price as I just bought a leftover 2017 HD where the sticker was only 51 for my z71 with Bose speakers. I do think with the price they are asking, they should add tow mirrors. I’m glad mine came with them as they are helpful for those that tow/haul on a more frequent basis.
I have been a fan of GM since the seventies. We just bought my wife a 2018 Tundra 5.7 extended with 6.5 bed (2800 miles right now) I own a 2016 3500 HD 4×4 crew with 6.5 bed (39,600 miles right now) to pull gooseneck I built.
After being forced to bailout GM I cannot reasonably buy another GM product. Quality is poor at best, directly compared to Toyota, GM is creating a product that just gets by in abilities, quality doesn’t make GM money, the philosophy seems to be *build products that put the maximum amount of money in the upper echelons of the company, quality, brand dedication, loyalty, nothing matters but GM making more money at every customer’s expense*
I’m installing a gooseneck hitch in the half ton Tundra to experiment and I will see if the Chevrolet is actually mandatory.
Huge difference in being brand conscious and quality conscious.
I can agree with you there. To make it worse, they’ve never fully repaid the US Treasury.
What are you talking about? GM payed the Federal government back in full! If you want anybody to blame go blame the Federal government for selling the stock when the stock prices were to low.
GM kept there end of there loan!
When is chevy going to have a factory lift in there trucks.
The bubble will burst for all truck makers who are currently enjoying the $60,000-90,000 + purchasing frenzy phenomenon. The pool of buyers these days who are willingly shelling out the crazy asking prices for these trucks is not bottomless. The next slip in the economy or a jump to $4.00+/gal. prices will start things rolling. I tried out the Chevrolet config. tool the other day for the Silverado. Start with the base truck and add just four upgrades or options (and we’re not talking leather here) and you hit $35k with no effort at all. Can’t imagine what the price would be if you could order an interior that isn’t black.
After my last two Chevy’s I had. Spent more time at the dealership getting fixed before first.5000 miles I will never buy another one again. No wonder why they needed a bail out. Ford’s I have now have no issues or drama.
Looks sharp, but I could do it aftermarket for a lot less.
