In this “real people not actors” Chevy ad campaign, the bow tie brand surprises customers who are returning to the collision shop to pick up their SUVs with a brand-new 2019 Equinox crossover. That’s quite a pleasant surprise, if you ask us… though probably not one that would take place in real life.
The host highlights several features of the Chevy Equinox – such as the built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi, Apple CarPlay, and a 7-inch diagonal touch-screen infotainment display – before revealing it to the unsuspecting customers. Oh, and he mentions the Equinox’s shiny new paint job, too.
The Chevy ad concludes by informing the viewer of an October 2018 discount on the 2019 Equinox, which includes 16 percent off MSRP for LT models when financing through GM Financial, which equates to nearly $5,000 off the model shown in the video.
The GM Authority Take
We’re not quite sure what to make of this spot… or this series of spots, including the previous Chevy ad we shared, which focuses on the relationship stages of couples, and how said stages fit into the brand’s crossover lineup. And that brings us to our question: is this spot any better, worse, equally good (or bad)? Talk to us in the comment section below.
