1993 Cadillac DeVille Collides With Semi-Truck, Driver Walks Away

Somehow, a Yavapai County-area man walked away from what looks like a fatal car wreck. The unnamed man reportedly crossed the double-yellow line to pass a vehicle in a no-passing zone in a 1993 Cadillac DeVille when he struck a semi truck head-on.

AZfamily.com reported Wednesday neither the 1993 Cadillac DeVille driver or semi truck driver could avoid the crash, which led to the head-on collision. The gruesome photos show an utterly mangled carcass and remains of the DeVille, which would likely lead any bystander to believe the worst of the situation.

Yavapai County sheriffs said the driver was pinned behind the Cadillac’s steering wheel, but first responders were eventually able to extract him from the vehicle.

The semi-truck driver reportedly exited his vehicle after the impact and helped keep a fire from reaching the man trapped inside the DeVille. Police said the DeVille driver was then taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, which is utterly remarkable.

Sheriffs said multiple witnesses backed up the account that the driver attempted to pass illegally ahead of the crash and the driver showed no signs of alcohol or drug use. Thus far, he has not been charged with anything as the crash remains under investigation.
