While Chevrolet unveiled its brand-new Silverado 1500 High Country pickup truck concept at the Texas State Fair on Thursday, the automaker simultaneously revealed another three custom concept trucks slated to make their public debuts at this year’s Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) trade show in Las Vegas. The truck pictured above – the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado RST Off Road concept – has been custom-built to suit the wants and needs of the avid off-road enthusiast, boasting a suspension lift, off-roading wheels, and other parts and accessories that help optimize the truck for a day on the trails.
Shod in Chevrolet’s handsome Cajun Red exterior hue, the Chevrolet Silverado RST Off Road takes just two items from the official Chevrolet Performance Parts Catalog: a two-inch Suspension Lift, and a Cold-Air Intake System for its GM 5.3 Liter V8 EcoTec3 L84 petrol engine. For lighting, Chevrolet relied on Baja Designs’ proven off-road lamp kits, donning a 40-inch Baja LED light bar and off-road Squadron sport lamps. The only other component that didn’t come from Chevy’s own catalogs is the rear underseat combination lockbox, which comes from Tuffy Security Products.
Otherwise, it’s genuine Chevrolet Accessories as far as the eye can see, with a dealer-available Off Road Appearance Package bringing a soft tonneau cover with Chevrolet bowtie logo, Sport Assist Steps, and a Chevrolet-branded Sport Bar Package. The 18-inch off-road wheels in Carbon Flash and their off-road tires; illuminated black bowtie emblem; all-weather floor mats with Z71 branding; and locking center console storage box are all straight from the Chevrolet Accessories catalog. That also goes for the side-mounted bed storage box, black tailgate lettering, and black Silverado Custom emblems.
