Trump says “Phaak Canada” and Canadian buyers say “well, we’re not buying American then”. Trump opens his mouth and says “we need to keep American investment in America” and then the next thing is that American money stays here, and ALSO non-American money stays non-American.
Then the trickle-up kicks in, the rich Americans get all the American money and the poor Americans get no money, American or Canadian or anyone’s money. “You workers can’t have any money that came from Canada, and all the American money is mine, so you all just be poor and love me for it”
So stupid it literally hurts. Hurts Trump haters, and hurts Trump lovers the same.
These are Cipolla’s five fundamental laws of stupidity:
1. Always and inevitably everyone underestimates the number of stupid individuals in circulation.
2. The probability that a certain person (will) be stupid is independent of any other characteristic of that person.
3. A stupid person is a person who causes losses to another person or to a group of persons while himself deriving no gain and even possibly incurring losses.
4. Non-stupid people always underestimate the damaging power of stupid individuals. In particular non-stupid people constantly forget that at all times and places and under any circumstances to deal and/or associate with stupid people always turns out to be a costly mistake.
5. A stupid person is the most dangerous type of person.
3 = Trump
4 = Cohen, Manafort, Gates, Spicer, Scaramucci, Daniels, Priebus, Shulkin, McMaster, Tillerson, Cohn, Hicks, Porter, Price, Gorker, Bannon, his own kids…
Canada isn’t a significant market. It’s not even a real country yet they frequently pretend to be one of the big boys. Kind of funny really.
Trump is basically grabbing them by the Trudeau on the trade negotiations.
Really Canada is not a real country ? Odd statement considering we have sent Canadian military members to serve with your military in Afghanistan & 158 made the supreme sacrifice for Canada & freedom. Massive war cemeteries are scattered throughout Europe with Canadian Military dead from WW 1 & 2 as well as the Korean War Yes we are a small market , but lets not forget our past history together of helping each other out . I won’t comment on your current federal leadership ( which I won’t as I’m not American , so I have no skin in the game , and besides is none of my business ) . We respect our American cousins and enjoy the close working relationship our two great countries share .
Er, last time I looked the USA had its President appointed by someone from another country. That makes the USA “not even a real country” because it is now a client-state of Russia.
Canada has its leader chosen by Canadians. That’s a “real” country.
I have been waiting for this information for a long time. Thank you very much for your wonderful post. thanks you.
