Chevrolet announced the 2019 Blazer price on Tuesday and the $29,995 figure will net buyers a Blazer L trim. The mid-size crossover SUV will be offered in four trim levels, with L marking the base trim. Moving up the hierarchy, trims are as follows:

  • L (1L0): includes 2.5L I4 LCV engine with FWD only and cloth seats
  • Blazer, comprised of three LT-level trims:
    • 1LT: includes 2.5L I4 LCV engine with FWD only and cloth seats
    • 2LT: includes 3.6L V6 LGX engine with FWD or AWD and cloth seats
    • 3LT: includes 3.6L V6 LGX engine with FWD or AWD and leather seats
  • RS (1RS): includes 3.6L V6 LGX engine with FWD or AWD and leather seats
  • Premier (0HD): includes 3.6L V6 LGX engine with FWD or AWD and leather seats

No matter which trim, the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer will come with a roster of standard features. They include an eight-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, traction mode select, dual-zone climate control and GM’s rear-seat reminder system. “Blazer” trims will likely be the volume sellers, which come with 18-inch wheels, HID headlights, LED daytime running lights, and dual exhaust outlets.

  1. I will never understand GM’s strategy with trim levels. Like why can’t a customer get leather seats with the 4 Cyl engine? Or am I misreading this. Some people chose the 4 Cyl strictly for the Fuel Economy it provides but still want all the options.
Not that I would buy a car with that 4 Cyl engine ever or allow anyone I know too. GM should have placed the 2.0 Tas the base engine.

    1. According to Chevy website the 3.6L is standard on RS and Premier trims only. That means all Blazer trims come with 2.5L standard. 3LT trim lets you opt for leather, hopefully it doesn’t force you into V6 option.

    2. Sorry, a $30K fake Blazer that is made in Mexico and therefore doesn’t support quality American jobs, unions, or communities is not a good purchase in any way.

You can style it up all you want, but Made in Mexico just seems like GM trying to grab profits by paying Mexicans nothing…And the long-term damage to American towns and workers is not excusable.

Given how much Sean and others are trying to sell this thing on here, I don’t think it has a great future. Much like the Chinese-made Buick Envision which is collapsing in sales while the American-made Buick Enclave is a stellar success and better vehicle to boot. And it employs AMERICAN workers and feeds money into local communities and taxes.

  2. Im glad it looks like you can get the RS in any color. I’m also hoping that fog lights are a option. The RED RS in the picture looks like it might have lower lights than just the headlights. But overall its still looks interesting to me. I will need to see it in person to see if its what I am looking for.

    1. Where do you expect foglights to be placed on this?

  3. Given that the base price of the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox is $23,700, the $30K base price of Blazer is not extreme and while it’s appearance rubs owners of the old Blazer the wrong way, one has to remember there’s a reason why the prior generation of Blazer was canceled as the new Chevrolet Blazer should be a hit with buyers of both gender.

    1. The original Blazer died because the new Tahoe came along and sales plummeted on the original.

Much like the S10 killed the the El Camino.

We enthusiast always retain the sweet memories but often forget the realities of what liked our favorite vehicles.

The whole idea is to sell models at the highest price it will support in the greatest numbers possible.

  4. Horrible, cheap looking grill on the order of black chain link fence fabric. Terribly affects the appearance of an otherwise great looking suv.

  5. They make you go to mid level just to have AWD and then you can’t get an economical 4 cyl. to go with it. Sorry GM but no deal.

    1. Think they want you to get a 2.0t Equinox where the base Blazer picks u, hence no 2.0t Blazer, OTOH a 2.7 Blazer would definitely set things apart..
