You Can Buy This Mid-Engine Corvette Right Now

We don’t know when the mid-engine C8 Corvette will go on sale, but why worry when there’s already a perfectly good mid-engine Corvette for sale right now?

We’re talking about the 1993 mid-engine Innotech Corvette Mysterro. What’s the Mysterro? It’s a bespoke mid-engine Corvette project brought to life by the late Vaclav Kral, a Czech car designer. Part of his career before he passed away in 2006 included this mid-engine Corvette, which debuted at a 1994 Slovak auto show.

Under the unique bodywork, which does not include a roof, is a C4 Corvette; the car still sports the original 5.7-liter V8 engine, suspension components, steering rack, and braking system. The five-speed manual is reportedly custom built, though. Inside the Mysterro mid-engine Corvette is an all-red interior with a carbon-fiber dashboard, Recaro seats, and an Alpine audio system.

Despite its age, the unique Corvette only shows 62 miles on the odometer and it still wears its original Pirelli tires. But does it command $292,000? That will be for one buyer to decide. The car’s currently for sale in the United Kingdom, but international buyers are welcome, just as long as he or she arrange shipment.

  1. $292,000 and they did not replace the tires. Tires should be replaced when they are six years old. Oxidation causes the rubber to harden and become brittle. This can lead to tread separation.
