The Chevrolet SEMA Design Awards program returns for 2018 and the brand is now taking vehicle submissions.
The brand announced vehicles must be registered by October 12 to be eligible and provided the criteria for award consideration. Builders must retain the Chevy bowtie badge, if equipped, use a Chevy powertrain, and late-model cars are encouraged (sixth-generation Camaro and seventh-generation Corvette).
Obviously, the brand will be looking for Chevrolet performance parts integration, Chevy accessories, and crate engine use. However, Chevy judges will also look for new technology integration, which opens up the possibilities.
Interested vehicle builders most submit a vehicle description, display location and pre- and post-SEMA publicity plans. Those who submit their vehicles before September 14 will also have the opportunity to be featured in Chevy’s pre-show marketing activities. For the opportunity, builders must submit renderings and in-process photos for Chevrolet social media.
Awards will be up for grabs in the following categories:
- Chevy SEMA Late Model Car of the Year.
- Chevy SEMA Late Model Truck of the Year.
- Chevy SEMA Classic of the Year.
- Best use of Chevy Performance Crate Engine.
- Best use of Chevy Performance Parts & Accessories.
- Designers Choice.
