NCM Motorsports Park Reveals Andy Pilgrim Track-Driving School

Last February, the National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park announced a familiar face would join the team in Andy Pilgrim. With Pilgrim aboard, the NCM planned to offer a driving school to help drivers of all ages and skill levels become more proficient behind the wheel.

Now, we know Pilgrim will launch “The Psychology of Speed” in a two-part program for drivers. The track-driving school includes a classroom session and on-track coaching with Pilgrim at the NCM Motorsports Park track.

The classroom session will cost $250 and includes a meet-and-greet with Pilgrim, two hours of classroom time to go over numerous topics, a virtual track walk and a Q/A session. Classroom time will cover mental preparation, tire/chassis analysis, managing horsepower, aero vs mechanical grip, to trail brake or not to trail brake and more.

Pilgrim will personally conduct on-track sessions and help drivers improve their high-performance driving skills. The cost includes private track time, takeaway data and analysis via VBOX. Pilgrim will also set a data lap for the driver. Lunch is also part of the day experience; the two-day experience includes dinner.

Climbing behind the wheel with the former Corvette Racing and Cadillac factory driver won’t come cheaply, however. Individual sessions start at $3,000 if the driver uses their own car. The price jumps to $6,000 if he or she uses an NCM Motorsports Park vehicle. Two days in a personal car will cost $5,500 and climb to $11,000 for a borrowed car. Group rates are also available starting a $10,000.
