The hotly-anticipated mid-engine Chevrolet C8 Corvette has been rendered numerous times already, although many of the existing renderings, composed before spy photographers published their latest high-detail photos earlier this month, were essentially shots in the dark. Now, a new rendering drawn up by MidEngineCorvetteForum.com user “fvs” takes the details from those photos and attempts to recreate them for what might yet prove to be a pretty accurate image of the future sportscar.
The rendering appears to take a lot from the racing-bred Corvette C8.R that was spied testing earlier in the month, although as one forum administrator notes, the space around the rear window seems to have been plucked from a McLaren. From what we can tell, that McLaren aperture looks quite close to what Chevrolet is intending to put on the C8 Corvette. Meanwhile, the taillights are borrowed from the current-generation C7 Corvette, as it’s still unclear exactly what the C8’s lamps will look like.
However, details like the side inlets behind the doors and the radiator exhaust ports are 100% C8, having been spotted on prototypes like the C8.R spied earlier in the month.

THERE MAY RESEMBLE OTHERS. IT WILL STILL HAVE ITS OWN PERSONALITY.
The Vette evolution continues. It’s all good.
FVS is far ahead of everyone else in the Corvette rendering game. He has the best sources and the best piers helping his work, and his talent is also his career.
With that said, please know that this car isn’t what you think it is. It’s better.
