Since its regional reveal at the 2017 Dubai International Motor Show, the Chevy Bolt EV has finally arrived in dealerships across the UAE. Prospective customers can now get behind the wheel for a test drive and view the electric vehicle in showrooms across the country.
Liberty Automobiles, an official UAE Chevrolet dealer, began deliveries this month and sold its first Bolt EV to Saeed Obaid Juma Al Leem Al Ali. Mr. Saeed cited sustainability as the main reason for purchasing the Bolt EV. For Chevy, the Bolt EV is the brand’s first electric vehicle in the Middle East region.
The Bolt EV continues to be the poster-child for Chevrolet’s electrification efforts and a demonstration on what’s possible for under $40,000. With an EPA-estimated 238 miles of electric range and roomy hatchback design, the Bolt EV has also been the platform for GM’s autonomous vehicle efforts, as well.

Now the Arabs can sell more oil to the non-EV countries, and save locally by driving electric!
Believe it or not, the UAE is doing more for electric adoption than the US. And that’s saying something.
The people in the UAE like those here in the United States are probably wondering whether General Motors will bring the Buick Enspire all-electric concept SUV to production, especially after hearing what the Enspire is to have a range of up to 370 miles and accelerate zero to sixty in 4.0 seconds.
