How does this new 2019 GM Truck compare inside and outside to the always larger Ford F150…
The Chevy is bigger
Can you get single zone A/C in a LT
Yes with the All Star Package (or Texas Package depending on your location.)
What about if you are from Canada?
How is road noise compared to outgoing generation?
All I want to know is how does it compare to the competition? Don’t know if you have the time r ability to fully test all aspects of a true comparison test but let us know if you think they fell short ,matches or overtook the competition.
Why do you need it compared to the competition? Why cant people just look at the truck and say will this work for me?
Are people that worried about what the next guy has? If the competition truck has 1/2 inch more room does that make it a better truck? If you think so then you dont need to be rating these trucks!
It’s a great truck, no questions needed!
To me, when I am looking at a comparison it is usually based on same features in each truck but what is the cost difference if any? If two similar trucks have a price difference of let’s say 1500 dollars I might buy the less expensive truck. That is what I want comparisons for.
So you would let 1500.00 bucks keep you from purchasing a GM truck? That’s ridiculous! I dont cross shop! I pick what GM vehicle I want at the time! I guess we have a different set of values we live by!
Not quite sure where “values” comes into play here, what I think you meant was “loyalty” to a BRAND. When all of these pick-ups are all made to some very good standards a $1500.00 difference in price would certainly have me looking at the competition whether I usually drove a Ford, Chevy, or Ram.
Of course in your world maybe that $1500.00 is inconsequential, good for you friend. I live in a different world and giving it to some manufacturer instead of to one of my Grandchildren for education shows both where my loyalties are as well as my values. #itsjustatruck!
One is not going to bleed to death over $1500.00 are they Exsanguinate? If so, I couldn’t ever see them going out to dinner and a movie, a few craft beers at a brewery or even a sports bar for a game because they wouldn’t drink. They would also be a non smoker/vape and have an old cell phone if they had one at all.
If that were me, I wouldn’t be buying new anyway, two years old maybe.
Just my two ¢
Nor is a dealership going to draw blood. Exactly the opposite, because I’m not willing to throw away $1500.00 over brand loyalty I would have the money to go out to dinner and a movie, a few craft beers, or even a sports bar. FYI unless I find an old classic that I need all of my vehicle purchases have been new since the age of 19.
Again, happy for all of you that have an extra $1500.00 to throw away.
The you are missing is brand loyalty needs to be a thing that is a staple of our lives again!
No amount of money can ever pull me away from GM!
I don’t think anybody is missing your point. I just do not believe in brand loyalty what so ever. I’m a GM guy, hence me spending time on this blog, but if I can get more truck for my dollar elsewhere, I’ll be shopping elsewhere because I value my hard earned dollars.
I don’t owe anything to GM or any other manufacturer. If they want my money they need to earn it.
Thank you TJ. Best response yet . I too am a GM fan and I also feel that if GM and anyone else for that matter wants me to spend my money on their products had better offer me the best deal for my money. If I can buy a better product elsewhere I will go there. If you want me to be loyal to your brand earn my loyalty.
And now you know why this country is getting worse by the year! Disloyal people who have zero back bone always looking over their shoulder at the next best thing. People today dont know what a commitment means, they back out of their comments because the product next to them gets a new shinny coat of paint! The emblem on the grill is the most important thing on the vehicle everything else is just gravy! It shows what kind of character a person has, when they jump from one thing to another. I like people who will stand together and fight threw good times and bad. Not run because things get difficult. I guess I have a different set of values!
Because the grass is always greener here in the land of the rising sun. ‘Yota 4eva!
I have nothing against die hard GM guys, I’m one of them! But when you buy a brand new loaded truck and your family or friends that happens to own other brands start asking questions like does it have keyless start, 360 degree camera, panoramic sunroof, power extended mirrors etc. and what is the box underneath the passenger door? Then at this point you realize that someone needs to be fired at GM and replaced by talented designers and people with high innovation skills.
Because people want to buy the better vehicle and blindly follow one brand? Just because gm has made great trucks in the past doesn’t mean this truck won’t fall short of the competition in real world testing. IT’S a $30-65,000+ purchase what’s wrong with wanting to know how it stacks up to competing products?
Will Adaptive cruise control be an option? Thank you!
not at this time, but lane keep assist and automatic forward braking is available on LTZ & HC. only truck on the market with heads-up display and filled with other advanced technologies.
Thank you.
This is unfortunate. Not sure why GM wouldn’t make adaptive cruise available, they’ve had it on their large SUV’s now for years. This is an option I want in my next truck and unfortunately hold me back from buying one of these trucks until they do.
Why not?? All of your competitors have adaptive cruise, what’s the problem?.
1. Double cab rear seat specs, pics, opinion on space
2. How the new mirrors compared to the old ones
Does the trailer brake controller take the place of anything else on the center stack? I saw a video of an LT Trailboss that had a trailer brake controller on the bottom left of the center stack, but I think that location could be used for more important features.
Your impression of the turbo 4cyl (L3B) and 3.0 Duramax diesel (LM2) and transmissions.
Overall driving feel.
Those powertrains were not at this drive event from what has been said by others (magazine/online reviewers).
I’d love to tell you, but the 2.7T and 3.0L Duramax weren’t present.
Is GM listening to the complaints of that ugly front end…mpg’s be damned! Really, ask that! Are they going to completely ignore long time buyers that think this is too drastic of a styling departure?
What are you talking about the truck looks great
I agree, I like the Silverado more every time I look at it.
There’s more to styling then just making the grill bigger. At one point I thought Ford was going to chrome plate the hood and fenders of there super duty in there quest to out do the Ram!
Any word on if proper vertical towing mirrors will be available on the 1500?
Any word on when the configurators for the Silverado and Sierra will be up?
Configurator is up on GM supplier discount page but without the visualizations. You should be able to find it with a simple google search.
How does the 2.7L feel when driving a crew cab short box? I live in an area that is relatively flat, but would it feel adequate loaded up with a family of 4 (couple of adults and couple toddlers) for a vacation in the mountains or something?
I like the 5.3L currently but I don’t think I need it on an LT and RST trim.
Thoughts?
Also, does the bench seat still have the locking console in the front?
Are they going to use the same problematic 8 speed transmitton
It’s a new 8 speed, not carryover.
Where is the 3 L Duramax? Since all your driving is the 5.3 and 6.2…
Would love to hear anything you can tell us about the new I6 diesel.
When will we see the numbers for the 3.0L Diesel?
We’ve waited long enough I’d say…
With the big discounts offered on the 2018, is the 2019 worth what the difference in price out-the -door will be, assuming of coarse that most dealers will hold the price on the new ones as close to MSRP as they can?
Wondering where the 2019 model year crew cab is manufactured? USA or Mexico? I know previously the double cab was USA and the crew cab was Mexico.
Crew cab being built in both Fort Wayne, IN USA and Silao, MX locations now to meet the rise in demand for crew cab pickups.
When is the first date to order standard bed crew cab with baby duramax?
I checked the High Country out this morning, I Love the new Silverado, I am going to buy one.
Thank them for finally using round wheel openings!
Why did they put the mirrors in the new location and not the old?
Will the non-chrome front end be available on LTZ?
Will there be multiple gear ratios available with the engines or stuck with one per engine?
Thanks!
