Details are slowly, but surely, beginning to trickle out surrounding the 2020 Cadillac Escalade. The latest from our sister site, Cadillac Society, revolves around pricing.
According to a Thursday report, the next-generation luxury SUV will see a $10,000 price hike. Recall, the 2018 Escalade starts at $74,695, which will peg the next model to start around $85,000. The long-wheelbase Escalade ESV should start around $88,000, according to sources familiar with the knowledge.
The price increase will mean the most luxurious Escalade variants will likely encroach the $120,000 mark. Currently, the most expensive Escalade tops out around $100,000, as does its most direct rival, the Lincoln Navigator.
While such a price hike may seem unwarranted, the average Escalade sold today sells for prices in the $85,000 to $90,000 range. Thus, bumping the price point to fall in line with the average sale makes sense. Cadillac may also have new full-size crossover in the works aside from the Cadillac XT6 that the price shuffling may make room for.
Look for the 2020 Escalade to debut sometime in 2019 as a 2020 model with greater differentiation from the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. We may see an independent rear suspension and three powertrain options, too.

I bet that the 2020 Escalade will get its name changed to the XT8, and follow Cadillac’s naming scheme.
As I replied to you in a different thread… no, the Escalade will remain the Escalade.
XT8 is a different model. Don’t bet anymore 😀
It better not. that would be like renaming Coca-cola to CC2.
Not a smart move for Caddy, maybe even the final nail in the coffin.
The next Escalade must deliver on all fronts to stay relevant & on top. The upcoming BMW X7 M50i will surely touch the 100k mark, same with the next GLS & its upcoming AMG & Maybach versions, and of there’s an all new Range Rover coming in 2 years.
The Escalade better have a panoramic roof this time around, this charade has gone far enough.
Don’t get your hopes up, it will most likely continue as a reskinned Tahoe.
Yeah, Tahoe with the Escala concept interior…. U will be surprised..
We will know if it is reskinned Silverado, when gear shift lever will be on the steering wheel or not.
It won’t be there anymore. That’s not a guess. I’ve seen the interior. And It looks brilliant. It makes the Benz’s w222 interior to look like pos. Thats for u to understand how good that looks.
You work within Cadillac? If so, what’s all do you know? Any hints of what to expect?
The OLED screen is almost jaw dropping in its originalness. This is a unique panel designed specifically for this car. It’s not identical but very close to the one in the Escala that most people thought was just a cool concept car stylistic flourish. It’s not, it’ll make it to the showroom and no competitor has anything like it, at least from a style viewpoint. OLED screen across the dash and kind of knifed into it like on Escala. I think the dash is nicer than the Escala concept. It somehow looks chunkier and better resolved. The OLED screen looks fantastic (think it wider than Escala) and fits so well as though it’s been ‘knifed’ into the dash rather than the inelegant rectangle that they plonked onto the S Class dash.
The front is Escala but proportioned for an SUV. Headlights are horizontal and quite small with two rectangular lighting elements. Headlights are Probably about 3 to 3-1/2″ tall and maybe a foot wide.
If this guy works for Caddy, I’m friends with Donald Trump.
The W222 is a 4 year old car, the only thing he seems to “know” about is the screen, and I doubt that Caddy will completely abandon all of their signature vertical lighting elements.
Btw, look at the upcoming GLE’s interior. It has almost the same as the W222.
But anyway, I won’t tell u more)) Ciao
Despite comments by so many negative nillies, I do believe they have a strategy in place for this that involves the next Escalade being even better than the models you mention, while another full-size crossover (not the XT6) slotting in below it to take on the X7, GLS, and LR Range Rover.
Maybach is a non-starter. They can’t move cars whatsoever, and don’t need to have “competition”.
As for the Escalade remaining a re-skinned Tahoe.
1. Being that has not prevented it from being the best-selling model in its class and making money hand over fist… so consumers don’t seem to mind… whether that’s good or bad is a different topic entirely.
2. Changes for this generation will run more than skin-deep. Read:

I pray to god you’re right, Alex.
As I mentioned before, I love Cadillac, they’re among my favorite brands, but I don’t have much confidence in GM’s ability to do the right thing & not cut any corners anymore. I want them to prove me wrong & I hope they do, but I’m not holding my breath.
I don’t have a problem with the Escalade sharing the Tahoe’s platform, they can be platform mates & still be completely different, like VAG’s MLB EVO line of SUVs. It all comes down to the execution.
100%
Escalade with Super Cruise is going to be a huge winner.
This generation Escalade has done a lot for Cadillac, true for all Cadillac products, but Escalade especially. I can’t wait till for the next generation. Silence the naysayers!
They should let it go out with a bang. An Escalade Sport similar to the SEMA ’07 concept would be epic.
Oh what do you know, its the 20th anniversary of the Escalade.

I’m shocked it’ll only be a $10,000 increase to the Base version and a $20,000 increase to the Top End Model.
well I hate to say it but as but as I have owned three Escalades had an XTS and other Cadillac models I am so impressed with the Lincoln Navigator that I don’t even consider a new Escalade anymore and the think that they’re trying to bump their prices ridiculous
I’m pretty sure you’ll be much more impressed with it blown away by the upcoming all-new Escalade than the Navigator. The Escalade continues to be a very solid product despite being five years older than the brand new Navi.
Alex is correct. Lincoln looks very good compared to the current Escalade. Especially inside, but the new one will outclass it. Inside and out. And don’t forget the TTV8.
Since most Escalades are sold for well over $80k anyway, I don’t see this as a particularly bad thing, so long as the new Escalade has a greatly improved interior and ride quality and comes with more standard features.
Another huge fail. I guess GM ALREADY forgot the $7000.00 price hike they tried on the 2014 CTS. How’d that work out ?
