The fellas at Katech Performance recently got their hands on NHRA Funny Car driver Tony Bartone’s 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE, and they fitted it with a few goodies in an effort to push the car to the next level.
By installing the KP Stage 3 head and cam package – which includes a Katech-designed camshaft and CNC ported heads – along with the Whipple 2.9-liter supercharger, Katech was able to net an output of 876 horsepower and 858 pound-feet of torque from the 6.2-liter LT4 V8. That’s a gain of more than 215 horsepower compared to the baseline dyno that this Camaro produced in stock form. A billet-aluminum, lightweight flywheel was also installed, which takes 25-pounds off the driveline and allows the revs to climb faster.
