The 2020 GMC Sierra HD has been caught testing in the wild complete with full camouflage to hide the truck’s forthcoming changes. The Fast Lane Truck reported on Monday and published spy video of the pickup testing in Colorado.
The truck makes its way to a parking lot with other General Motors vehicles after the spy chasers originally assume the truck is a Ram. But, it quickly becomes clear we’re looking at a GM vehicle. In fact, it could be the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD, too.
Chevrolet teased the 2020 Silverado HD earlier this year ahead of a reveal next year but offered no details in the first announcement. We know the trucks will wear bolder designs over the current pickups and Chevy said the next trucks will focus on the needs of Heavy Duty owners.
We’ll have plenty of time for more spy shots and rumors, though. The trucks will enter production in Q3 of 2019 at the Flint, Michigan, assembly plant. In the meantime, check out the spy video above.

Looks good, still waiting to hear what the new gas V8 will be though.
Need torque figures on the gas motor.
both Ford and Chevrolet have higher torque motors in their 1/2t than they do on their 3/4t, makes little sense from a user prospective.
I suppose they just want to keep them simple but more CC’s and dual fuel injection would seem to be a good path without getting into turbo complication and maintenance.
Chevrolet is developing a twin-turbo 5.5L V8 for the next generation C8 Corvette; one has to think Chevrolet will consider developing a naturally aspirated version of this engine for usage by the 2020 GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado as well as for GM’s full size SUVs.
That would be interesting but not out of the question. If so, that would be the smallest V8 in a three quarter ton truck in modern design.
GM for sure, the front torsion bars were plainly visible.
Looks great and will sale great!
Should use a detuned version of the new cadillac 4.2tt engine in the half ton pickups…its 550hp and 627tq..if they detuned it to 475hp it would be around 540tq! Would be an awesome truck engine
