The Chevrolet Corvette and Porsche 911 rivalry is one of the automotive landscape’s greatest. Perhaps only Camaro and Mustang come closer.
For both cars’ latest act, it’s all about track prowess and big power. So, Car and Driver rounded up the 2019 C7 Corvette ZR1 and the Porsche 911 GT2 RS for a comparison test to see which sports car reigns supreme.
The competition is close. The Corvette ZR1 brings a 6.2-liter supercharged LT5 V8 engine to the party with a whopping 755 horsepower. Germany’s banner sports car opts for a 3.8-liter flat-six engine with help from two turbochargers to make 700 hp. Both do supercar things, but judges recognized the Corvette ZR1 is a bargain compared to the nearly $300,000 base price of the 911 GT2 RS. The ZR1 packs most of its go-fast goodies for just $122,000.
It’s close but no cigar for one of the sports cars, and we won’t spoil the entire comparison. Head to C/D to see which one walks away victorious.

How can these two be compared to each other? They are almost 200k apart from each other. Cost should mean something when comparing both cars.
Why not put the ZR1 up against the Porsche that cost 120k, then see how fast both cars are.
Doesn’t matter at all. Don’t be jealous just because you can barely afford a Hot Wheels Porsche or Corvette.
