It is that time of the year again to be making plans for the annual Woodward Dream Cruise, and Corvette owners looking for a somewhat organized plan over the course of a few days can find it below. To quote the organizer on Corvette Forum: as long as everyone follows directions everything will be cool.
The series of Corvette Forum related events will kick off on Wednesday, August 15. Owners are called to meet at the GM Heritage Center at 10 AM. Heading into Wednesday evening, owners will meet at the Masonic Lodge on the west side of Woodward. Police will be arriving around 7:30PM to help the Corvette caravan cruise down to the Open Hands Food Pantry at Eleven Mile and Woodward.
Everyone is asked to help and donate $10.00 per Corvette entry, along with some food. So, the bigger the turnout, the more the community will benefit from it. At the food pantry there is plans to have a food vendor and a few raffles so stick around and enjoy good company if you are able to.
Thursday, August 16 will be filled with more Corvette camaraderie. In the morning, owners will meet up at the Lingenfelter Collection. There is no planned caravan there but it has been suggested to meet at the mall at Twelve Mile and squad up from there. Jumping to the Thursday evening portion of activities the destination is at Stahl’s Collection. They will be having an ongoing cruise night.
Lastly, for Friday nothing seems to be set in stone yet. A couple of things that were in mind was to meet at Webber’s Wildlife Museum, a rather interesting place especially if you like to hunt. Another option was the possibility of Go-Kart racing.

To GM engineers. Why does the 2019 ZR-1 have such a pathetic 8-speed transmission? In one test by C&D the ZR-1 does 0-150mph in 13.7 seconds and then 15.3 seconds in another test.
It is disgraceful to GMs engineers that their 8-speed in describe as lazy. I do hope that the manual transmission ZR-1 will sprint to 0-150mph quicker than 13.7 seconds. I am also hoping that C&D and others can test the low wing as well with both transmissions.
That 15.3 seconds to 150mph is horrible for a 755 bhp sports car in this modern time. Please GM, reprogram the software for the 8-speed please. At least give the last front engine Corvette a little bit more straight line speed for its last hurray!
Hey dont you read? They said the 10 speed doesn’t fit!
I have a 2015 Zo6 and when I pull the paddle to up shift sometimes it doesn’t go to the next gear, you have to wait. GM claims it shifts Eight-hundredth of a second faster than a Porsche 911 DCT. I have never driven a 911 but I’m guessing there wrong. Sometimes when it does shift you can feel it flow into the next gear rather than it going into the next gear instantaneously. They will not let you test drive the car before you buy it, if I would have known this I would not have bought an automatic transmission. I hope GM gets a better paddle shifting transmission for the C8 !
