As it stands, the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is the king of the Camaro lineup. And before the sixth-generation Camaro, the ZL1 was still top dog in the horsepower department.
But how much quicker and faster is the sixth-generation car to the fifth-generation? A drag race will settle that. In the video above, a 2018 Camaro ZL1 lines up to do battle with a 2013 Camaro ZL1. As a refresher, the older ZL1 boasts a 6.2-liter LSA supercharged V8 engine making 580 horsepower. The latest ZL1 packs a 6.2-liter LT4 supercharged V8 engine with 650 horsepower.
Not only is the new car more powerful, but thanks to the Alpha platform, the old Zeta-based Camaro looks like a hefty thing at 4,120 pounds to 3,883 pounds.
Neither car is “slow,” per se, but the 2018 Camaro ZL1 has the advantage. And it shows at the drag strip. Check it out in the video above.

The 5th Gen spun the tires like crazy. The bone stock 5th Gen ZL1 fast list on Camaro5.com has several guys running consistent 11.5-11.7 1/4 mile times. With that being said, the 6th Gen is still faster.
I agree. 6th would win anyway but the driver of the 5th gen messed up
I have run 11.57 in my 5th gen zl1 with just a roto fab intake they move if u get them just right
