“Dad, let’s put a turbo in it!”
Those were the magic words that turned an American classic from the 60’s to a beast of a vehicle that is putting a whooping on some modern supercars at the track. Except this family project didn’t only receive one turbo, but two. Combined with a 6.2L LT1 engine, this Corvette is said to be pushing around 900 horsepower.
The true power of this car got displayed on a family day at the track, where all the horses got let out, and personal records were set. This 1967 Corvette was leaving McLarens, Lamborghinis, and modern muscle cars in the dust on the drag strip. With a top speed of 176mph on the day, this family project car is no joke.
It has cutouts on the side pipes, cats on each side, and four bullet mufflers to try and keep it quiet. With that much power under the hood it’s needless to say that this ‘Vette is no whisperer. The owner, Kyle, says his favorite part of the vehicle is being able to work on it with his two teenage boys. This vintage supercar destroyer sets as an example of how lasting memories and bonds are created over the love of cars. Check the action from the video above.

What a horrible decision.. to take a beautiful classic 1967 Corvette and essentially ruining it.
That car has to be a handful to control on the other end of the track. I once read that Duntov described those coupes’ aerodynamics as “…makes just enough uplift to be a bad wing.”
Kudos to the tranny builder- a 200-4R that can hold up behind a 383 under 20 psi of boost is a work of art.
Dumb, nasty sounding rich boy supercars getting eaten alive by this All-American father-sons homebuilt rong guang Corvette.
Absolutely Priceless
