General Motors wants to extend a warm “thank you” to the United States’ first responders and will enact a special pricing discount for the brave men and women.
Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and OnStar will all offer a special pricing plan to recognize first responders, which will include paid and volunteer police, firefighters, EMTs/paramedics and 911 dispatchers.
“Millions of men and women serve their neighbors as police officers, firefighters, emergency medical service professionals and 911 dispatchers,” said Steve Hill, GM vice president of U.S. Sales, Service and Marketing. “Not long after the hurricanes of 2017, we started thinking about ways to recognize first responders in a really meaningful way. The team came back and said first responders deserve the same new vehicle discount we offer members of the military because every single person in uniform helps protect us.”
The discount will bring a vehicle’s asking price below the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) and will be compatibile with most other offers, per GM’s announcement on Monday.

Don’t pitch a fit about this, Brian. GM is only offering discounts to select individuals whos’ occupation is essential to functional public safety system, even if some of these people have never owned a single GM vehicle in their life.
I’m sure this will get deleted, GM hands out supplier discounts codes like candy…Often all you need to do is ask a GM Corporate person…
Great for our police officers.
Just like it is great our military gets discounts too.
I work in disaster recovery. Before the water receded in most of Houston following Harvey, we had people out doing damage and debris assessments. We gave jobs to people who had lost everything. In many cases, we were working shoulder-to-shoulder first responders. Anything that anyone can do to support these people is fine by me.
