GM Canada has a new top lawyer in Jim Williams. The executive will replace Peter Cho, who will head to GM Korea to become vice president, lead counsel for GM Korea.
Williams will also join GM Canada’s Executive Committee and GM Canada’s board of directors.
“I’d like to thank Peter for his many contributions and leadership at GM Canada and wish him well in his new role in Korea,” said Travis Hester, GM Canada president and managing director. “I’m also pleased to welcome Jim to the GM Canada team. His rich experience with General Motors will be valuable as we continue to build GM Canada’s leadership in sales, manufacturing and automotive innovation.”
Hester himself is new to a top leadership position at GM Canada; he replaced Steve Carlisle after the automaker ousted Johan de Nysschen at Cadillac and installed Carlisle in his place.
Williams’ new position will be effective August 1.
