Barrett-Jackson wrapped up its third-annual Northeast auction at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, and after 662 cars crosse the auction block, the top sellers are in.
This time around, numerous Chevrolet vehicles filled the top 10 list and range from Chevy Nova, Chevelle and Corvette models. Taking the top spot was a 1967 Nova custom coupe with numerous modifications. The car sold for $275,000. In the fifth spot was a 1970 Chevelle SS454, which garnered a high bid of $172,700.
Two Corvettes took the seventh and tenth spots. At number seven was a 1965 Corvette convertible, which brought in $170,500, and a 1960 Corvette convertible rounded things out with a hammer price of $144,100.
However, no Chevrolet model could outshine the auction’s real star. Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles offered up the final production Dodge Viper and Challenger SRT Demon for charity as a package deal. The two cars sold for an astounding $1.1 million with all proceeds benefitting the United Way.

Classic Chevy guy will never own the posh dinner jacket, toney loafers and carbon fiber credit card required to take a seat at this table. Show me the ultra-low mileage 14K, unrestored $155K LS6 and we’ll talk about value (my friend owns it). Show us something real, man. Show us something significant. My US-made Redwings might need to be re-soled and my Dickies are ripped and stained beyond acceptability in most trendy Pac Heights destinations, but I thank God every day for the gift of Turbojet therapy. You gotta know sacrifice to understand what that means. Keep the faith, my Holden brutha, Sean
