Chevrolet Traverse, Malibu Named To Top Family Vehicle List

Chevrolet and Honda both topped a new list ranking the top family vehicles. Included in the list are the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse and the 2018 Chevrolet Malibu. Honda also took two top spots with the Accord and Odyssey minivan.

The list, compiled by Edmunds and Parents magazine, looks at many factors to determine what makes a good family vehicle. In the announcement, Brent Romans, senior analyst at Edmunds, said any eligible vehicle must have a top safety score from NHTSA and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety to be considered.

Other factors looked at include car seat capacity, roomy cabins and cargo space, as well as active safety feature availability. The Traverse overtook competitors like the Ford Explorer and Toyota Highlander with its recent redesign, while judges also lauded the Malibu for its family-friendly interior and functional infotainment system.

  3. GM can leave anything called a minivan where it currently is!

Why is safety so important? We try to take any and all bad things out of life. Maybe if death rates started to raise people would learn how to drive better. But why worry about safer when the car will save me. With all the seatbelts, airbags, crunch zones!

If safety is so important then why can you drive a mini 120 mph?

    1. Big reason is that a driver isn’t only responsible for themselves, but their passengers and other motorists/pedestrians can also be affected. Let’s not attack the needed safety features of vehicles but go after the pathetic driving/capability testing in this country.

  4. There was a time when it made sense to buy import brands, for superior quality, performance and style.

Now, buyers are much more confident in buying GM and other domestic brands, for the same reasons.

On the roads I see more new GM crossovers every day, many new models, invading this market, taking share away from all makes.

And new customers are paying up for these new products, many selling at higher prices than imports.

    2. When I was a kid growing up in the US I never understood why people in America would sell out their own country to buy something from over seas!

Now its common place but if it would have never happened this country would be in a much better state then it is now!
