Chevrolet Teases Blazer With Fashion Photoshoot

It appears Chevrolet is nearing a reveal for the reborn Chevrolet Blazer. On Wednesday, the brand posted a set of photos to its official Facebook page with a caption reading, “The hottest look of the year. Coming Soon.”

At first glance, the photos are simply of a male model wearing some incredibly trendy garb. But, the emphasis is on the blazer. Cheeky move, Chevrolet.

We can’t figure out why the brand highlighted various parts of the blazer jacket, but it could be for absolutely no reason at all. The up-close images don’t seem to reveal any hidden messages or “Easter eggs” of any kind, at least after we pored over the images.

Replying to one commenter, Chevrolet social media said the teaser has the brand “pretty excited,” seemingly confirming the images are part of a larger teaser campaign for the Chevy Blazer.

The new Blazer, potentially a 2019 model year vehicle, will fill an important gap between the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox and 2018 Chevrolet Traverse. Chevy purposefully downsized the Equinox and stretched the Traverse to make room for a true mid-size crossover. Thus far, it’s been unclear if the Blazer name will actually grace the vehicle, but today’s teaser all but confirms the nameplate.

And for some, that’s not such great news. Those expecting a rugged off-road SUV may be disappointed to know the reborn Blazer will ride on General Motors’ C1 platform shared with the 2018 GMC Acadia. In fact, the Blazer will likely wear identical proportions to the Acadia but with its own sheet metal.

  1. I’ve never seen a blazer with 4 buttons, but I don’t own one so maybe? Or perhaps it’s alluding to a new 4 cylinder engine…perhaps a 2.7?

Not sure on the other two pics.

    1. That’s a 2 button jacket.

  2. Well they just puked all over what the Blazer used to be. Someone needs a smack.

    1. I’d say whoever thinks it’s a good idea to give a family crossover a name of an off roading SUV should be hit hard in the neck.

      1. Haha yea exactly, and then marketed it with a yuppie in a mint jacket

      2. Yeah, why not just put the new Wrangler on the Jeep Compass platform. Surly no one would notice or care! Well, at least it will probably sell well and give Chevy closer competition to the Explorer. But considering Ford is moving the Explorer to a RWD platform… *sigh*

Fingers crossed that we will be pleasantly surprised. It better be a REALLY good crossover.

  3. I just hope it means we’ll see the production version fully uncovered soon. An RS Trim with a LF3 that only requires regular gas would be awesome, also.

    1. An LF3? Yeah right.

  4. Yeah, would have been nice for GM to have something that competes directly with the toyota 4-runner.

  5. Kudos to being clever; that’s how you win at advertising…

  7. WTH?? Come on GM!! What have you turned into? Don’t do this to the Blazer! Have some balls about you!! Oh, sorry Ms. Berra. I guess my desire for a 2 door utility vehicle with a V8 and 4wd will have to continue to be satisfied by a 30 year old K5. You are right, GM needs more FWD crossovers with iconic names to destroy the brand loyalty….Please don’t do this!

  8. I loved the old Blazer but I think Blazer is a good name for the Acadia sized SUV as long as they make a BOF RWD Colorado based Trailblazer. TrailBlazer sounds more like an off road type Vehicle and most current customers don’t remember too much about the Blazer of the 80s

  9. I agree the name should have been held back but it will be interesting to see what kind of sales the Blazer will have compared to the Bronco.

I would not be shocked to see 150K-200k plus Blazers sold but not sure how the Bronco will be. The market has changed so will they come back to the truck like model.

I love my Canyon but my wife’s Acadia is much more comfortable to drive. The Acadia has sold around 220,000 units in the last two years.

Not sure how it will turn out but it will be interesting. Who in the end made the right call? At this point no one knows.

    1. 220 million!! LOL, did you mean 220,000?

  10. Welp this brings hope to the TrailBlazer right?

  11. The picture above leaves open the interpretation that, the man is taking off the blazer. Hopefully GM is being sly about calling it something else.

  13. The ford bronco is coming soon, and what is the answer of Chevrolet?????? a Blazer crossover!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???? Something weird is happening in GM.

    1. I think they should have used a different name, but this is still a vehicle that Chevrolet needed. It’s Ford Edge/Explorer competitor. They will sell a ton of these.

  14. interesting cars. and the first photo is especially important to me. because the man is wearing very expensive clothes. which in General can be sewn and 4-5 times cheaper. if you choose a suitable fabric, for example something from here https://tissura.com/catalog/men/suiting-fabrics, it will look just as expensive. this is a style that is very important for a person who has such machines. it’s great that there are stores that can help with this. you will only need to find a master who is ready to implement your idea
