2019 Chevy Blazer: Hot Or Not

Last week, Chevrolet finally ripped the sheet off of the 2019 Blazer. As expected, it does not mirror the nameplate’s past but instead forges ahead as a sporty crossover vehicle without the macho off-road gear.
In typical fashion, we’re here to ask if the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer is hot or not, and we have a feeling this will be an intriguing poll to watch. We say that because the Blazer is a vehicle near and dear to many, and the latest incarnation is nothing like the SUV of yore.
But, for what it’s worth, the 2019 Blazer does look sharp, especially in RS trimmings. The design was absolutely previewed with the Chinese FNR-X concept vehicle, which boasted slim headlights, a gaping grille and the industry’s favorite design trend of recent: a floating roofline. It all works here, and the design is particularly wild when comparing the smaller Equinox and larger Traverse. One look at the Blazer, and Chevrolet’s other crossovers quickly look rather geriatric in shape and style.
One criticism: the rear of the Blazer looks bland. We see numerous hints of other designs here, but the Nissan Murano comes to mind first and foremost. We’ve spoken of similar styles at the front and see hints of Lexus, Jeep Cherokee and more.
Inside, any fan of the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro‘s interior will feel right at home. The 2019 Blazer even features the same HVAC vents as the pony car. We’ll need more seat time in the crossover to see if the cabin is a nice place to be, but sport in the name of the game, clearly.
Now it’s time for you to head to the poll below and cast your vote. Are you disappointed in the 2019 Blazer? Has Chevrolet nailed the comeback? Talk to us.
I am totally disappointed with the new look. The rear side windows are basically useless. The front grill (just like the Lexus) looks like a fish with it’s mouth open. The earlier photos seen on the web were better looking. Looks like I won’t be buying the new Blazer have to look elsewhere.
I Vote a big not, this is a true disgrace to the chevy blazer name, it is not a crossover, the original was a small body on frame truck from the 70’s to the 2000’s and it was the best truck ever made, this one is a big time joke and it’s already by far the worst automobiles of 2018, it is a mess, does not work, yeah it well sell, but the REAL blazer fans will never buy this.
big thumbs down for me.
The target audience for this vehicle never knew what the original Blazer was nor do they care. It’s a much younger crowd who is not inhibited by what was
That kind of disregards us younger enthusiasts. I am not out of elementary school and I think this is a disgrace to the blazer name.
Looks great love it..
This is an insult to the rich Blazer history , now just another CUV tarted up to try to be relevant in todays trendy marketplace !
I really wonder the guys that think calling this a blazer is an insult if it’s the same guys that called the pathfinder is an insult because it also goes from BOF to a crossover
I believe GM should euthanize whoever is coming with these pieces of crap that tend to only fill junk yards with cheap unusable front wheel gay marriage cars. America is only becoming gayer and queerer everyday. I will skip that and wait for China to handle the new V8s. I am sure GM had forced their employees to give this thing a good rating on the poll. Keep on going low til you hit rock bottom. Oh i forgot you already did and forced us tax payers to pay for reinventing a Blazer. Come on everyone knows a Blazer is a 2dr Suburban.
To all you gay lovers out there, this is your soft truck, i bet you can also lube it and itll slide easy with the aerodynamical curves and can go 85mph and also sound a like a hole doing it
And who are you Donald Trump tbe 2nd …
I would buy one as long as they are not made in the USA…
looks like a rav 4 bring back the k 5 blazer or the 2 door tahoe and become a chevy again
Thank God no turbo 4! Let’s get back to the large EcoTec engines. Great gas mileage without the need for over complexity. Let’s just hope that Stop/Start gets dropped also.
Brix is right on , larger engines run quieter and last longer as they don’t work as hard . Stop / start causes more problems than they solve . It is just a means to get a bit higher EPA standards . Chubby Trump has trashed the EPA federal dept of it’s scientists , about 400 in total have been canned and it is now a ghost of it’s former self .,,,now it just does Trummy’s bidding .
Great looking car! Agree with others thoughts that this should not be called a Blazer. Chevy 100% – hands down missed the mark. Ford is doing the right thing by bringing back a retro looking Bronco. I was really hoping Chevy would do the same. I am HIGHLY DISSAPPOINTED!
I love the new Blazer and i like the name they gave it and i really don’t care what Ford calls there Vehicle….
Not the Blazer that blazer fans wanted. No better way to say it.
A nice looking crossover suv, nicely fitting between the Equinox and the Transverse but to call it the Blazer? No. Not at all. Nice job creating this SUV but to call it the new Blazer is very disappointing and disrespectful to Blazer fans. This is almost as bad as Mitsubishi new Eclipse crossover. Terrible. They should’ve followed what Ford did with the new Bronco.
Went to auto show and as much I wanted to like it I didn’t. Not as a Blazer for sure. Exterior pretty decent, interior just an average. Priced too hight but with enough cushion for GM to offer 6-8k rabates in the future and they will have to. Totally missed chance.
I own an 86 all original blazer. And this new heap of crap looks like a watered down mini van. A total joke and it’s entirely laughable.
Great car if you want to look like you have land rover but can’t really afford one.
I’m drowning in my own tears as we speak.
The front looks like crap. Giant gaping black grill that is WAY out of proportion with the vehicle. The rest of the vehicle is fine, but the front is so ugly I would never want one. Chevy destroyed the Camaro SS with a giant black void grill, so it isn’t too surprising. Chevy must have sent their designers to the Toyota/Lexus design school who seem to confuse “bold” designs with attractive designs.
Absolutely agree with what seems to be the consensus here; good looking vehicle, but not what a “Blazer” should be, though. Can’t anyone make a vehicle that can complete with a new Wrangler? Bring back a soft-topped, V8, manual transmissioned, 4×4 and call that a Blazer. What has been offered is just following in others current tracks. Certainly not “blazing” any new trails with this; but it would be nice if Chevy retraced it’s own steps with what a Blazer used to be.
What a disappointment! A European design Replaces what was once a rugged American classic? It’s just like every other SUV on road. No Character.
This is a big letdown! I’m 43, & for the first time in my life, I’ll be buying a Ford. The Equinox re-design was terrible, & now the Blazer is looking like a sportier Equinox. American families traded their mini vans for SUV’s, & what does Chevy do? Make the Equinox look like a mini van. Ford just has better ideas, & designers, sad but true…
